    摘要: Novel optical compensation films are disclosed. One embodiment of the films is an optical compensation film wherein d satisfies the equation of d=−0.0115×Rth+3.0 d (μm) or is within the range of ±10% thereof, in which d (μm) is a thickness of the optically anisotropic layer and Rth (nm) is the retardation of only the transparent support in the thickness direction. Another embodiment of the films is an optical compensation film wherein a (deg.) and b (deg.) are within the ranges of 20≦a≦80 and 20≦b≦80, and satisfy the relation of − 5/9×a+45≦b≦− 5/9×a+110, in which a (deg.) is an average of tilt angles of the major axes (the discotic planes) of the discotic compound molecules at an interface between the optically anisotropic layer and the transparent support, and b (deg.) is an average of tilt angles of the major axes (the discotic planes) of the discotic compound molecules at an air interface on the side of a liquid crystal cell.

    摘要: An image formation device that inspects for image irregularities caused by joining of inkjet head modules. The image formation device is equipped with a belt conveyance unit, a recording head, a print sensor and a system controller. The belt conveyance unit moves paper in a conveyance direction. At the recording head, modules including plural recording elements that eject ink droplets are joined up to a length corresponding to the width of the paper. The recording head ejects ink droplets at the paper being conveyed to form an image. The print sensor reads the image recorded on the paper, while moving in the width direction of the paper. On the basis of the image that is read, the system controller inspects the quality of the image recorded on the paper.

    摘要: Post-etching line width localities that occur due to resist film thickness localities can be corrected continuously, without the need for an expensive mask. After a resist applied to a thin film on a substrate is scanned and exposed by an exposure machine, which is selectively turned on and off by image data, the resist and the thin film are developed and etched to produce a pattern having a desired line width. Before the resist is exposed, a film thickness of the resist on the substrate is measured at each of plural locations on the substrate. The measured film thickness is reflected in a predetermined relationship between a pre-exposure film thickness of the resist and a post-etching corrective line width, for thereby determining a corrective line width amount at each of the plural locations on the substrate.

    摘要: A photographic printer has a lamp which projects light through a cut-off filter, a filter unit, and a diffusion plate. The light travels further through a film negative, an objective lens, and to a polarizing beam splitter. The beam splitter provides the light to a spatial light modulator and to an exposing/enlarging lens. The spatial light modulator includes a light modulating layer of a homeotropically oriented nematic liquid crystal having a negative dielectric anisotropy. Layers of transparent electrodes in the spatial light modulator are provided with a predetermined voltage of a predetermined frequency. A write CRT, controlled by a controller and control unit, provides light to the spatial light modulator so that the light from the beam splitter can be modulated with an appropriate correction. The modulated light and the light from the beam splitter are made incident on a photographic color paper. The photographic printer has improved compensation for blur caused by dust on the optical path. Each pixel or minute region is controlled for reflectance.

    摘要: An inkjet recording apparatus has: a head having a plurality of nozzles which eject an ink onto a recording medium; a conveyance device which conveys the recording medium; a droplet ejection control device which controls ink ejection of the head; a test image forming device that forms a test image on the recording medium by causing the ink to be ejected from every n (where n is a natural number equal to 2 or higher) nozzles in an X direction perpendicular to a direction in which the recording medium is conveyed, and causing the ink to be ejected so as to form vertical lines forming n columns which shift by one nozzle in the X direction and each extend continuously in terms of a Y direction parallel to the direction in which the recording medium is conveyed; and a reading device which is provided on a conveyance path of the recording medium, reads in a test image on the recording medium and has an image reading structure covering a length corresponding to full width of the recording medium in a breadthways direction which is perpendicular to the direction in which the recording medium is conveyed, wherein in the test image, an arrangement pitch in the X direction of the vertical lines is equal to or exceeding a reading pitch in the X direction of the reading device, an arrangement pitch in the Y direction of the vertical lines is N times a reading pitch in the Y direction of the reading device (where N is a natural number), and an interval corresponding to variation in a conveyance of the recording medium is provided between the vertical lines in such a manner that a length in the Y direction of each of the vertical lines is less than the reading pitch in the Y direction of the reading device.
