A main roll and a sub-roll of a sheet material feeding apparatus interpose therebetween a sheet material to intermittently feed the same to a press apparatus. A roll clearance is adjusted according to a sheet thickness by displacing the main roll up and down. A release device that temporarily releases a sheet material having been interposed by the both rolls just before the sheet material is subjected to press working by the press apparatus includes a sub-roll guide that can move up and down together with the sub-roll, a rectilinear cam, and cam followers for engagement with a cam surface of the rectilinear cam, and the release device moves the rectilinear cam axially of the sub-roll in synchronism with the operation of the press apparatus to thereby displace the sub-roll up and down through the cam followers and the sub-roll guide.

An article carrying apparatus is capable of carrying an article efficiently and correctly. The article carrying apparatus for carrying an article, includes: a housing; an input shaft rotatably supported by the housing; an output section supported by the housing in such a manner that the output section can oscillate and reciprocate; an article carry section that oscillates and reciprocates integrally with the output section; a first cam mechanism that moves in conjunction with the input shaft and oscillates the output section, wherein the first cam mechanism includes a first cam having a cam face that maintains a contact state with the output section during reciprocation of the output section, and a contact position at which the output section and the cam face contact one another moves in the same direction as a reciprocating direction in which the output section reciprocates; and a second cam mechanism that moves in conjunction with the input shaft and reciprocates the output section.

A power transmission device is capable of correctly adjusting relative positions of two shafts in a direction of rotation even when the shafts are rotationally driven, and comprises a hollow, outer shaft, to one end of which a drive gear is fixed, an inner shaft, to one end of which a carrier is fixed, and a planetary gear mechanism. The planetary gear mechanism comprises a sun gear, planetary gears supported on a carrier, and a ring gear having internal teeth and external teeth, the internal teeth engaging with the planetary gears. A first gear and a second gear on an input shaft, respectively, engage with outer teeth of the drive gear and the ring gear. When the sun gear is made stationary and the input shaft is rotationally driven, the outer shaft and the inner shaft are rotated with the same number of revolutions in the same direction. When the sun gear is rotated, a position of the inner shaft in the direction of rotation is adjusted relative to the outer shaft.

An article carrying apparatus for carrying, in a carrying direction, an article placed on a carry face of a carry section making use of a vibration, includes: the carry section provided with the carry face of which the carrying direction is linearly restricted; and a vibration applying mechanism that applies the vibration to the carry section. The vibration applying mechanism includes: a first cam mechanism for converting a motion that has been input from a predetermined drive source into a reciprocating linear motion in a first direction that has at least a component in the carrying direction, and for transmitting the reciprocating linear motion to the carry section; and a second cam mechanism for converting a motion that has been input from a predetermined drive source into a reciprocating linear motion in a second direction that has at least a component in a normal direction of the carry face, and for transmitting the reciprocating linear motion to the carry section.

A mechanical pressing machine includes a slider mounted on an input shaft at a location below a cam, and a sliding block and a balance weight mounted at locations above the cam. A first cam follower rotatably carried on the slider abuts against a lower surface of the cam and is biased by a spring member toward the lower surface. A second cam follower rotatably carried on a sliding block abuts against an upper surface of the cam and is biased by spring members toward the upper surface. When the cam is rotated together with the input shaft, the slider effects vertical sliding movement through the first cam follower, and the sliding block and the balance weight effect vertical sliding movement in a direction opposite from the direction of movement of the slider through the second cam follower.

An inclining and rotating table apparatus comprises a rotating table device having a rotating table, and a support base for rotatably supporting the rotating table having a shaft body provided perpendicular to a rotation axis of the rotating table, and a base for rotatably supporting the rotating table device using the shaft body. A table surface of the rotating table is inclined by making the rotating table device rotate. A first V-shaped groove is directly formed in the shaft body along its rotating direction. The base has a second V-shaped groove opposing the first V-shaped groove. A cross roller bearing is structured by providing rolling bodies, which are placed in contact with the first and second V-shaped grooves and are capable of rolling therebetween, between the shaft body and the base, and arranging a rolling axis of a rolling body perpendicular to that of an adjacent rolling body.

An automatic tool-exchanging apparatus is provided which extends/contracts an arm with a rational and simple structure and can realize a high-speed operation essentially obtainable by making the arm's turning radius small. The apparatus comprises: an arm-driving shaft for being driven to rotate; an arm provided on the shaft and capable of being rotated, the arm capable of being moved to extend/contract and comprising a grip arm for attaching/detaching a tool, and an arm support movably supporting the grip arm; a clutch between the arm support and the shaft, the clutch for connecting the arm support and the shaft to make them rotate integrally, and disconnecting the arm support and the shaft to generate a relative rotation therebetween; and a link between the grip arm and the shaft, the link for transmitting the relative rotation of the shaft in respect to the arm support to make the grip arm move.
