Abstract:
A seatbelt apparatus is provided which can constrain a passenger by ensuring removal of a slack of a lap belt when two pretensioners are activated under two different time frames. A pretensioner of a seatbelt retractor is activated first, and a shoulder belt and a lap belt are pulled in a direction toward the seatbelt retractor. Subsequently, a pretensioner of a belt anchor portion is activated and pulls a seatbelt toward the belt anchor portion, and hence a one-way tongue catches and locks the seatbelt. Accordingly, the shoulder belt is prevented from moving toward the lap belt through the tongue. Therefore, removal of the slack of the lap belt is ensured, and hence a lumber of the passenger is firmly fixed.
Abstract:
An optical disc 10 includes a substrate. The substrate is formed by mixing polymethyl methacrylate and a polylactic acid-based resin composition. The polylactic acid-based resin composition contains polylactic acid-based resin in which the content of lactide is reduced to 1,000 ppm or less, and a mold release agent of 0.16 to 0.32 phr. The weight ratio of the polylactic acid-based resin to the polymethyl methacrylate is 70:30 to 50:50.
Abstract:
The present invention was made to improve the strength, such as heat resistance, of a disc comprising a biodegradable resin. The optical disc according to the present invention is formed by bonding two substrates, at least one of the substrates having an information recording area. One substrate disposed on a light incident side of the optical disc is composed of a biodegradable resin that is uncrystallized and allows light to transmit therethrough. Another substrate disposed away from the light incident side of the optical disc is composed of the biodegradable resin having higher crystallinity than that of the substrate disposed on a light incident side of the optical disc.
Abstract:
A passenger protecting apparatus that includes an air belt configured to inflate along a back surface of a seat back to provide protection to the lower body a passenger sitting behind the seat. The apparatus includes a buckle and a lap anchor. The rear end on the right and the left of the air belt are connected to the buckle and the lap anchor via a wire respectively. Upon collision, the air belt is inflated and the buckle and the lap anchor are pulled down to thereby pretension the seat belt.
Abstract:
A light guide plate is provided including a first lens portion comprising a plurality of recessed or projected lenticular unit lenses formed of the same resin as that of the light guide plate on a light emission surface. The plurality of lenticular unit lenses in the first lens portion are triangular prism portions whose respective vertexes have an angle of 125.degree. to 165.degree. and are so arranged that their respective ridge lines are nearly parallel to each other. Such construction makes it possible to set the number of lenticular lens sheets used to one or to further eliminate the necessity of the lenticular lens sheets, so that the cost of parts and the fabrication cost of the light guide plate can be reduced. A second lens portion may be provided on a light reflective surface opposite to the light emission surface on which the first lens portion is disposed, the second lens portion including a plurality of recessed or projected lenticular unit lenses formed of the same resin as that of the light guide plate. Alternatively, a light guide plate is provided having a plurality of grooves with approximately equal groove widths formed on a surface opposite to a light emission surface, the grooves being arranged substantially parallel to each other and the spacing between the grooves narrowing as the distance from the light incident surface increases, with the spacing from the far end of one of the plurality of grooves proximate to the light incident surface to the near end of a groove adjacent thereto farther away from the light incident surface being 5 to 15 times the groove width.
Abstract:
A liquid crystal displaying device uses an inexpensive incandescent lamp or xenon lamp without sacrificing luminous intensity of a reflector, while maintaining an ease of installation. In the displaying device, a liquid crystal displaying panel, an incandescent lamp, a reflector, a lens and a heat-ray absorbing filter have a common optical axis and are secured to a bracket. The lamp is held by a socket and installed on the bracket transversely to the optical axis of the reflecting surface of the reflector. Further, the liquid crystal displaying panel has polarizing plates on both sides thereof. A coating to diffuse light from the lamp is disposed on one of the polarizing plates on the light incident side of the displaying panel. The polarizing direction of the polarizing plate on the other side of the displaying panel is selected so that the polarizing direction of the incident light waves on a reflective layer which is disposed on the front windshield glass provides a transversal or horizontal wave.
Abstract:
A process for preparing human T cell hybridomas which are subculturable and produce lymphokines comprising the steps of: (1) treating a human acute leukemia cell with a protein and/or RNA synthesis inhibitor; (2) independently activating a human T cell with a mitogen or antigen; (3) fusing the thus-treated human acute leukemia cell with the thus-activated human T cell in the presence of a fusion accelerator; and (4) isolating the thus-formed hybridoma. An in vivo process for producing lymphokines using the hybridomas is also described.
