Abstract: An apparatus for managing power of a vehicle and a method of controlling the same, for effectively shutting off dark current are disclosed. The method includes cutting off a first load part when a preset first time condition is satisfied, additionally cutting off a second load part when at least one of a preset second time condition or a first battery state condition is satisfied, and additionally cutting off a third load part to interrupt all loads when at least one of a preset third time condition, a second battery state condition, or a dark current state condition is satisfied.

Abstract: A device and a method are provided for interrupting battery current using a latch relay for substantially high current interruption, which enable the latch relay to return to an ON position after operating to an OFF position. Accordingly, the latch relay for substantially high current interruption is operated to return to an ON (closed) position in only a normal state other than a short-circuit state by self-diagnosing the presence of occurrence of a short circuit before the latch relay attempts to return to the ON (closed) position after operating to an OFF (open) position. Therefore the latch relay may not become fixed and damaged due to the returning of the latch relay to the ON (closed) position during a short-circuit state, thereby guaranteeing the reuse of the latch relay.

Abstract: A battery power cut off system for a vehicle is provided that improves safety of the vehicle by separately detecting an overcurrent, an abnormal current, and a short current generated due to various causes while a vehicle is driven and cutting off power output from a battery. The system includes a collision sensing unit that detects an impact quantity due to a collision while the vehicle is driven and a battery sensor that detects an output current quantity of the battery. A controller analyzes the impact quantity and the output current quantity of the battery to determine whether a collision current, a short current, and an overcurrent are generated and perform a power cut off control. A switch is configured to cut off the battery power supplied to a large-capacity load element in response to a control signal of the controller.
