    Abstract: A mobility management processing method and apparatus are disclosed. The method includes: receiving, by an SMF network element, a data notification message that includes a PDU session identifier and that is sent by a UPF network element, and determining, based on the PDU session identifier, a session and SSC mode corresponding to the PDU session identifier and/or a service area of the UPF network element, where the UPF network element is a network element that establishes a PDU session corresponding to the PDU session identifier; determining a paging area based on the SSC mode and/or the service area of the UPF network element; and sending a first message including the paging area to an AMF network element, where the first message is used to trigger the AMF network element to page, in the paging area, a terminal that establishes the PDU session by using the UPF network element.

    Abstract: A paging method, a paging device, and system are described. A mobility management network element (MME) obtains location information of user equipment (UE) in a non-3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) network, where the UE already accesses the non-3GPP network. The MME receives a downlink data notification message, where the downlink data notification message carries an identifier of the UE. The MME pages the UE according to the location information of the UE in the non-3GPP network. In some implementations, a paging range may be determined according to the location information of the UE in the non-3GPP network, and a paging message does not need to be sent to all base stations in a registration area of the UE.

    Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention provides an access method in a wireless communications network. Authentication and authorization functions of a 3GPP AAA server for a non-3GPP access network can be integrated into a mobility management network element. Therefore, after UE accesses the non-3GPP access network, a non-3GPP access gateway may select the mobility management network element that supports the authentication and authorization functions for the non-3GPP access network as a target mobility management network element, and request the target mobility management network element to perform authentication and authorization for the UE. After authentication and authorization are performed for the UE, the non-3GPP access gateway may select a P-GW for the UE, and set up a PDN connection between the non-3GPP access gateway and the selected P-GW for the UE.
