Abstract: A supportive software-based “toolbox” for optimizing finite state machine (FSM)-modeled systems. The optimization may include defining a plurality of alternative models for the FSM-modeled system and iterating one or more of the domain alternative into iterated alternatives. The optimization may include generating a plurality of stateflow representations for the FSM-modeled system according to the iterated alternatives, and based thereon, generating a model score for each of the stateflow representations predictively ranking the stateflow representations based at least in part on one or more of user experience, usability, correctness, transformability, effectiveness, and readiness.

Abstract: A method of reducing traffic congestion for a road network. The method includes predicting future traffic congestion levels for the road network based on historical traffic congestion levels for the road network. An individual contribution to the future traffic congestion levels for each of a plurality of drivers is predicted based on future routes corresponding to each of the plurality of drivers with the future routes including at least one road segment through the road network. At least one congested road segment is identified based on the future traffic congestion levels for the road network and the plurality of drivers with a highest individual contribution to the at least one congested road segment are identified. The plurality of drivers with the highest individual contributions to the at least one congested road segment are provided a first offer to avoid operating a vehicle on the road network.

Abstract: A system for facilitating transfers of control includes an input module configured to acquire a set of user preferences relating control states to contexts, the control states including at least a manual control state, and an autonomous and/or semi-autonomous control state. The system includes a processing device configured to automatically perform, during operation of a semiautonomous system, generating a transfer of control (TOC) policy based on the set of user preferences and a current context state, the TOC policy prescribing transitions between control states in response to actions. The processing device is also configured to perform, based on an action performed by the user or a control system, determining whether to perform a transition from a current control state to a second control state, and in response to the TOC policy prescribing the transition, transitioning from the current control state to the second control state.
