Abstract:
An image encoding method using a Binary Partition Tree (BPT) includes performing the BPT on a reference frame, detecting blocks, each having a difference in a pixel value exceeding a threshold value in a current frame, based on a result of the BPT of the reference frame, and performing the BPT of the current frame on the detected blocks. In accordance with the present invention, block partition is not applied to all frames, but a partial partition method based on a difference between the pixel values of a reference frame and a current frame to be encoded is provided. Accordingly, the encoding speed within the P frame or the B frame can be improved. Furthermore, the PSNR of a corresponding frame can be maintained within a specific range of the PSNR of a reference frame, and a compression effect can be improved.

Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for generating metadata of immersive media and disclosed also are an apparatus and a method for transmitting metadata related information. The apparatus includes: at least one of a camera module photographing or capturing the image; a gyro module sensing horizontality; a global positioning sensor (GPS) module calculating a position by receiving a satellite signal; and an audio module recording audio; and a network module receiving sensor effect information from a sensor aggregator through a wireless communication network; and an application generating metadata by performing timer-synchronization of an image photographed based on the camera module, a sensor effect collected by using the gyro module or the GPS module, or audio collected based on the audio module.

Disclosed are an apparatus of real time encoding of a mobile device screen and a method thereof. In accordance with embodiments of the present invention, the real time encoding and storing of the mobile device screen can be performed by using a hardware video codec embedded in the mobile device, thereby realizing the high-performance encoding without degrading the image quality while reducing load sharing of a CPU under multitask environment and the video codec can be selectively used according to the application operation, thereby improving the use of the video codec.

An apparatus for generating immersive media comprises an image generation unit generating image data based on image signals, a sensory effect data generation unit generating sensory effect data by obtaining information related to a sensory effect for providing a sensory effect in conjunction with the image data, and an immersive media generation unit generating immersive media based on the sensory effect data.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling light of a digital device based on an image and a control method thereof and can improve sensory effects by collecting light characteristic information of digital devices built in the playing environment based on an image played by an image player to extract an optimal light effect, improve the use efficiency of the digital devices by using the home network and the light of the two-way communicable digital devices to improve the sensory effects, and prevent personal information from being leaked in public and commercial facilities by allowing users to select the application of the received light control signal without collecting the light characteristic information of the mobile communication terminals when applying the sensory effects by controlling the light of the mobile communication terminals.

Disclosed is a method of compressing video frame using dual object extraction and object trajectory information in a video encoding and decoding process, including: segmenting a background and a object from a reference frame in video to extract the object, extracting and encoding motion information of the object based on the object, determining whether a frame is a reference frame based on encoded video in a decoding process, if it is determined that the frame is the reference frame, generating background information of a prediction frame based on the reference frame, and generating the prediction frame by extracting an object of the reference frame and referring to header information to reflect motion information of the object.
