摘要: The present disclosure provides a fitment. In an embodiment, the fitment includes a top portion, a base, and a channel extending through the top portion and the base for passage of a flowable material. The fitment is composed of a polymeric composition. The polymeric composition comprises: (i) from 60 weight % to 90 weight % of a propylene-based polymer having a density of 0.900 g/cc and a melt flow rate greater than 10.0 g/10 min; and (ii) from 40 weight % to 10 weight % of a propylene-based plastomer or elastomer (“PBPE”) having a density less than 0.900 g/cc, and a melt flow rate (MFR) from 5 g/10 min to 30 g/10 min. The present disclosure also provides a process for sealing multilayer films to the base of the fitment and the resultant flexible container formed from the process.

摘要: A package, e.g., a pouch, comprising: (A) An exterior surface comprising oriented-polypropylene (OPP), and (B) An interior surface comprising a blend, in weight percent based on the weight of the blend, of: (1) From 30 to 80 wt % of a propylene-based plastomer or elastomer (PBPE), and (2) From 20 to 70 wt % of low density polyethylene (LDPE); the package further comprising (C) A peelable end seal formed by joining in a heat seal two sections of the interior surface, the heat seal having a seal strength of 1 to 4 pounds per inch (lb/in) (4.48 to 17.9 Newton (N)/25.4 millimeter (mm)), and (D) A lap seal formed by joining in a heat seal a section of the interior surface with a section of the exterior surface, the heat seal having a seal strength of greater than or equal to (≥) 15 lb/in (67.2 N/25.4 mm).

摘要: A multilayer blown film having an inner layer, a first outer layer, and a second outer layer, wherein the inner layer comprises an ethylene-based polymer having a MWCDI value greater than 0.9, and a melt index ratio (I10/I2) that meets the following equation: I10/I2≥7.0−1.2×log (I2); and the first outer layer and the second outer layer independently comprise a polyethylene composition which comprises the reaction product of ethylene and, optionally, one or more alpha olefin comonomers, wherein the polyethylene composition is characterized by the following properties: (a) a melt index, I2, of from 0.1 to 2.0 g/10 min; (b) a density of from 0.910 to 0.930 g/cc; (c) a melt flow ratio, I10/I2, of from 6.0 to 7.6; and (d) a molecular weight distribution, (Mw/Mn) of from 2.5 to 4.0.

摘要: The instant invention provides a polyolefin composition suitable for packaging applications, films, multilayer structures and packaging devices made therefrom. The polyolefin composition according to the present invention comprises: an ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer composition comprising (a) from 50 to 75 percent by weight of a first ethylene/α-olefin copolymer fraction having a density in the range of 0.894 to 0.908 g/cm3, a melt index (I2) in the range of from 0.2 to 1 g/10 minutes, and (b) from 25 to 50 percent by weight of a second ethylene/α-olefin copolymer fraction, and wherein said ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer composition has a density in the range of 0.910 to 0.924 g/cm3, a melt index (I2) in the range of from 0.5 to 2 g/10 minutes, a zero shear viscosity ratio (ZSVR) in the range of from 1.15 to 2.5, a molecular weight distribution, expressed as the ratio of the weight average molecular weight to number average molecular weight (Mw/Mn) in the range of from 2.0 to 4.0, and tan delta at 0.1 radian/second and 190° C. in the range of from 6 to 43.

摘要: The present invention provides methods of preparing peelable seal layers, methods of preparing multilayer films, peelable seal layers made therefrom, and multilayer films made therefrom. In one aspect, a method of preparing a peelable seal layer comprises (a) providing a first blend comprising (i) from 5 to 98 percent by weight of a reactor grade propylene based plastomer or elastomer having a molecular weight distribution of less than 3.5 and a density of less than 0.89 g/cc and (ii) from 2 to 95 percent by weight of a second polymer selected from the group consisting of polyethylene, polybutylene, and styrenic polymer and mixtures thereof; (b) providing at least one linear low density polyethylene; (c) blending the first blend with the at least one linear low density polyethylene to obtain a second blend; and (d) extruding the second blend to form a peelable seal layer, wherein the peelable seal layer has a heat seal initiation temperature less than 120° C. when sealed at a bar pressure of 40 psi with a dwell time of 0.5 seconds.

摘要: The instant invention provides a polyolefin composition suitable for sealant applications, sealant compositions, method of producing the same, and films and multilayer structures made therefrom. The polyolefin composition suitable for sealant applications according to the present invention comprises: an ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer composition having a Comonomer Distribution Constant (CDC) in the range of from 40 to 110, vinyl unsaturation of less than 0.1 vinyls per one thousand carbon atoms present in the backbone of the ethylene-based polymer composition; a zero shear viscosity ratio (ZSVR) in the range of from 1.01 to 2.0; a density in the range of from 0.908 to 0.922 g/cm3, a melt index (I2 at 190° C./2.16 kg) in the range of from 0.5 to 5.0 g/10 minutes, a molecular weight distribution (defined as the weight average molecular weight divided by the number average molecular weight, Mw/Mn) in the range of from 2.0 to 4.0, and tan delta at 0.1 radian/second, determined at 190° C., in the range of from 5 to 50.
