摘要: A driver assist system for a vehicle includes a camera disposed at a vehicle and having an exterior field of view relative to the vehicle, and a video display operable to display image data captured by the camera and viewable by the driver of the vehicle. The driver assist system is operable to detect objects present in the exterior field of view of the camera. The driver assist system is operable to provide a display intensity of displayed image data of at least about 200 candelas/sq. meter for viewing by the driver. The driver assist system is operable to provide a visual alert and an audible alert responsive to detection of an object exterior of the vehicle. The visual alert includes electronically generated indicia that overlay displayed image data and that at least one of (i) indicate distance to a detected object and (ii) highlight a detected object.

摘要: A vehicular video mirror system includes an interior rearview mirror assembly that includes a reflective element having a transflective mirror reflector that is at least about 15 percent transmitting to visible light incident at the rear of the reflective element. A video display is disposed to the rear of the reflective element and emits light when actuated that passes through the transflective mirror reflector of the reflective element to be visible to a driver of the vehicle viewing the front of the reflective element. The video display is back lit by at least one light source and is operable to exhibit a display intensity as viewed by the driver of at least about 400 candelas per square meter when the interior rearview mirror assembly equipped the reflective element is mounted and is viewed in the vehicle.

摘要: The invention provides a process that comminutes fuel solids in a steam-driven shear field, with controlled water content and catalyst, with gasification of the particles entrained in the vented steam. Unlike conventional gasification methods the invention requires no dioxygen to be present, and produces dry friable ash that has significant marketable value as a material in its own right.

摘要: A video mirror system for a vehicle comprises an interior electrochromic rearview mirror assembly having a reflective element that has a front portion that faces generally towards the driver of the vehicle when the interior rearview mirror assembly is mounted in the vehicle and that has a rear portion that is generally opposite the front portion. The reflective element comprises a transflective mirror reflector that preferably is at least about 15 percent transmitting to visible light incident at the rear portion of the reflective element, and that preferably is at least about 60 percent reflective to visible light incident at the front portion. A video display screen is disposed to the rear of the reflective element and emits light when actuated that passes through the reflective element to be visible to a driver of the vehicle.

摘要: A vehicle-based door opening system for opening a door at a building includes a vehicle-based transmitting unit, a control and an actuating device. The transmitting unit is positioned at the vehicle and operable to transmit a first signal, and the actuating device is positioned at the building and receives the first signal from the vehicle-based transmitting unit. The control is operable to control at least one vehicle-based accessory, such as a door lock mechanism, in response to the first signal. The actuating device receives a domestic hand held garage door opener transmitting unit associated with a door opening device at or near the door and actuates the domestic hand held garage door opener transmitting unit in response to the first signal. The domestic hand held garage door opener transmitting unit transmits a second signal to actuate the door opening device to open or close the door.

摘要: A safety sensing and/or release system for opening a closed compartment of a vehicle comprises a sensing element for sensing the presence of an occupant within the closed compartment of the vehicle, a control responsive to the sensing element, and a release system. The control is operable to provide an output signal in response to a detection of an occupant by the sensing element. The control may be selectably locked to limit providing an unintentional output signal. The release system is operable to open the closed compartment in response to the output signal of the control. The control may be selectably locked in response to an input signal indicative of at least one of the vehicle ignition being on and the vehicle moving, in order to prevent the compartment from unexpectedly opening while the vehicle is moving.

摘要: A plastic pallet (10) having good load bearing construction and held together without mechanical fasteners, includes deck boards (30). The deck boards include ridges (24) on an upper side (32) and a lower side (34) thereof. Deck boards are positioned transversely on stringers (12) and joined thereto by either an adhesive or thermoplastic welding processes. The stringers and deck boards may be provided with end caps (26, 42) which seal interior areas of the stringers and deck boards and prevent tearing thereof. The stringers and deck boards have interior reinforcement ribs (22,40). The cross sectional profiles of the stringers, deck boards, and end caps provide a cost effective and light weight pallet. Openings which extend between the stringers allow for either two way fork entry and/or four way fork entry. The stringers and deck boards provide flexibility in constructing pallets of various designs. The plastic pallet preferably is highly durable and fully recyclable.

摘要: A process and apparatus for treating coal to produce micron-size coal particles having high surface reactivity and a low level of ash-forming impurities. The process involves grinding the coal in a substantially air tight fluid energy attrition mill under controlled temperature conditions to form a coal fraction comprising a major portion of hydrophobic coal particles and a minor portion of hydrophilic coal particles and an impurities-fraction comprising hydrophilic impurities particles, and separating the hydrophobic coal particles from the hydrophilic particles by virtue of the particles' relative affinity for water. The relative amount of hydrophilic coal particles may be reduced by the addition of a petroleum fraction to the coal during grinding.
