Abstract:
A plurality of approaches for forming a semiconductor device using an adaptive patterning method is disclosed. Some approaches include placing a semiconductor die unit on a carrier element, calculating trace geometry for a second set of traces, constructing a prestratum comprising a first set of traces, and constructing the second set of traces according to the calculated trace geometry. Forming the semiconductor device may further include electrically connecting at least one of the first set of traces to at least one of the second set of traces, and electrically connecting at least one bond pad of the semiconductor die unit to a destination pad through the at least one of the first set of traces and the at least one of the second set of traces.

A semiconductor substrate carrier for use during wet chemical processing may comprise a conductive flange to couple the carrier with processing equipment, a frame coupled with the conductive flange, where the frame is configured to hold a semiconductor substrate, and an integrated shield coupled with the frame. The integrated shield is configured to alter an electric field near at least a portion of a surface of the semiconductor substrate during the wet chemical processing.
Abstract:
In a fuel cell including an electrolyte layer allowing an anion component to migrate, and a fuel-side electrode and an oxygen-side electrode arranged to face each other while sandwiching the electrolyte layer, the oxygen-side electrode contains a first catalyst containing a first transition metal and polypyrrole, and a second catalyst containing a second transition metal and a porphyrin ring-containing compound so that the mixing ratio of the first catalyst relative to 100 parts by mass of the total amount of the first catalyst and the second catalyst is more than 10 parts by mass, and below 90 parts by mass.

Abstract:
A highly dispersed, unsupported, electrocatalyst made of pyrolyzed porphyries and a method for synthesizing the same. The disclosed synthesis procedure allows for optimization of pore size and therefore transport properties. Compounds suitable for use include transition metal N4-chelates such as, but not necessarily limited to, N4-chelates containing different metal centers including Co, Fe, Mn, Ni, Ru, Cu, etc., and other N4-chelates such as porphyrin, phthalocyanies, and structures based on their pyro products.
Abstract:
An electromagnetic matched filter based multiple access communications system having a source of modulated pulses from a digital data stream; an initial filter which shapes the incoming modulated pulse into a desired pulse for transmission across the communication medium; a second filter, identical to the initial filter, which is matched to the pulse which exit the communication medium, a detector which converts the modulated pulse stream into the original digital data stream, and signals which are designed with specific mathematical properties which make the system efficient and minimizes crosstalk between channels. The signals decay rapidly from the central lobe at a higher than 1/x rate and the zero points of the autocorrelation function having high order multiplicities. The type of system allows multiplexing of multiple data streams with much greater flexibility, robustness, and density.
Abstract:
Method for treating an aluminum alloy surface for electrodeposition or electroless deposition of a metal or alloy on the surface, the surface is oxidized (e.g. anodized) to form aluminum oxide, and then the oxidized surface is chemically etched to render the surface amenable for electrodeposition or electroless deposition of the metal or alloy thereon. A metallic coating can be electrodeposited or electroless deposited on the treated surface.
Abstract:
A method for associating a WSTA to a service set, wherein the service set is configurable at the AP. Each service set is an arbitrary grouping of one or more network service parameters, and is typically configured for either VLAN or proxy mobile IP host. When a wireless station desires to associate with an access point, the wireless station sends a message to the access point, the message containing a SSID. The access point then matches the SSID to a service set and associates the WSTA to either a home subnet or a VLAN based on the SSID. By locally configuring the service set, the default VLAN and home subnet for a WSTA may be different at each AP the WSTA encounters. A security server is configured with a list of allowed SSIDs for each wireless station to prevent unauthorized access to a VLAN or home subnet.

Abstract:
A processor having improved exception handling capability handles second level exceptions with reduced exception latency. The processor processes instructions in order through a plurality of serial stages. A first set of registers continuously tracks each instruction as it advances from stage to stage. An exception handles processes first level exception conditions and precludes updating of the first set of registers when it processes first level exception conditions to permit the processor to restart at the point of a first level exception condition. A second set of registers continuously tracks the instruction in tandem with the first set of registers, but is updatable during the processing of first level exception conditions by the exception handles. A monitor processes second level exception conditions occurring in the exception handler and precludes the second set of registers from being updated when it processes the second level exception conditions to permit the exception handler to restart from the point of the occurrence of a second level exception condition.
