    Abstract: The present disclosure provides an optical device, a module, an apparatus and a system for fingerprint identification. The optical device includes: a first lens array including a plurality of first lenses; a second lens array opposite to the first lens array, including a plurality of second lenses; and a light shielding element between the first lens array and the second lens array, the light shielding element including a plurality of light-transmitting apertures. Image focal planes of the plurality of second lenses, object focal planes of the plurality of first lenses, and the light shielding element are coplanar. The plurality of first lenses are in one-to-one correspondence with the plurality of second lenses and the plurality of light-transmitting apertures, respectively.

    Abstract: A display device and a method for controlling the display device are disclosed. The display device includes a backlight module and a liquid crystal cell on a light emitting side of the backlight module. The liquid crystal cell includes a first electrode, a second electrode disposed in a first direction opposite to the first electrode, a liquid crystal layer between the first electrode and the second electrode, and a diffractive optical element in the liquid crystal layer. A refractive index of the diffractive optical element is equal to a short-axis refractive index of a liquid crystal in the liquid crystal layer. The liquid crystal cell is divided into a first portion where the liquid crystal molecules are capable of rotating in a first plane and a second portion in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction where liquid crystal molecules are capable of rotating in a first plane.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a multifocal lens. The multifocal lens may include N liquid crystal panels in a stacked manner. The N liquid crystal panels may include an n-th liquid crystal panel, and the n-th liquid crystal panel may include an n-th converging element having an n-th focal length. N is a positive integer greater than or equal to 2, n is a positive integer, and 1≤n≤N. The n-th liquid crystal panel may be configured to be switchable between a converging state and a non-converging state. The N liquid crystal panels may be configured to make the multifocal lens to have switchable CN1+CN2+CN3+ . . . +CNN focal lengths, and the CN1+CN2+CN3+ . . . +CNN focal lengths are all different from one another.

    Abstract: A display device and a display method thereof are provided. The display device includes: a first base substrate (10) and a second base substrate (20) which are arranged oppositely and a liquid crystal layer (30) between the first base substrate (10) and the second base substrate (20), the display device further includes: a waveguide grating (40) between the liquid crystal layer (30) and the first base substrate (10), the waveguide grating (40) including a waveguide layer (401) and a grating layer (402) on one side of the waveguide layer (401) facing the liquid crystal layer (30), and the grating layer (402) being in contact with the liquid crystal layer (30); and a collimation light source (50) on a lateral surface of the waveguide layer (401), light emitted by the collimation light source (50) being coupled into the waveguide layer (401) and output from the grating layer (402). The display device can regulate an amount of the light output from the waveguide grating by controlling changes of the refractive index of the liquid crystal layer so as to implement gray scale display.

    Abstract: A display device includes: an optical waveguide layer having a light-entering region and a light-exiting region; an optical element correspondingly arranged in the light-entering region and configured to emit at least two types of light beams having different image information, to transmit the at least two types of light beams to the light-entering region of the optical waveguide layer; at least two coupling gratings arranged on transmission paths of the at least two types of light beams in the optical waveguide layer, and configured to change a direction of each of the at least two types of light beams in the optical waveguide layer, to enable light beams in the at least two types of light beams in the optical waveguide layer to be transmitted to the light-exiting region, exit from the light-exiting region and be converged at at least one view point.
