    Abstract: Described herein is a poly-lysine derivative obtained by a process including heating an aqueous lysine solution to boiling, increasing a temperature of the aqueous lysine solution to a reaction temperature in the range of about 105° C. to about 180° C., and keeping the reaction temperature in the range of about 105° C. to about 180° C. until (i) a melt viscosity of the reaction mixture is in the range of about 350 mPa*s to about 6,500 mPa*s, and (ii) an amine number in the range of about 100 mg KOH/g to about 500 mg KOH/g is achieved. The process also includes adding alkyl-carboxylic acid or alkenyl-carboxylic acid in amounts of 2.5 mol % to 10 mol %, and increasing or keeping the reaction temperature in the range of about 105° C. to about 180° C. until number of free alkyl-carboxylic acid or alkenyl-carboxylic acid is ≤9% by weight.

    Abstract: Described herein is a multilayer film including at least one layer including a polymer composition obtainable by free-radical polymerization of a monomer composition including at least one monomer A) selected from α,β-ethylenically unsaturated mono- and dicarboxylic acids, salts of α,β-ethylenically unsaturated mono- and dicarboxylic acids, anhydrides of α,β-ethylenically unsaturated mono- and dicarboxylic acids and mixtures thereof, where the free-radical polymerization is effected in the presence of at least one polyether component. Also described herein is a process for producing the multilayer film, methods of using the multilayer film and a sheath or coating for a washing composition, cleaning composition or dishwashing composition portion including the multilayer film, and to washing compositions, cleaning compositions or dishwashing compositions including the multilayer film.

    Abstract: A process for the preparation of microcapsules including (a) preparation of an aqueous biphasic system by mixing (i) component (a1) including a component A selected from polyethylene glycol vinyl acetate comb polymers, polycarboxylates, polyethers, polyaspartates, polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyamines, and polylysine; wherein component (a1) is a monophasic system at 23° C., and forms a monophasic system at 23° C. if mixed with water in the range of from 1:99 to 99:1 by weight, and (ii) component (a2) containing water and a water-soluble component B, wherein water-soluble component B is different from component A, and wherein (a2) is a monophasic system at 23° C., (iii) at least one monomer (a3), and (iv) optionally at least one initiator (a4), wherein (a1), (a2), (a3), and (a4) can be mixed together in any order or simultaneously, followed by (b) optionally shearing of the biphasic system to form an emulsion, and (c) polymerization of monomer (a3).
