Abstract:
A refrigerating device including a hollow-walled housing surrounding a first and a second storage compartment. A vacuum pump is controlably connected via a suction line to the hollow chamber of the housing and to one of the storage compartments. The pump is controlled to maintain a desired pressure range in both the housing and the storage compartment.
Abstract:
In example embodiments, a technique is provided to determine the similarity between two terms. For example, example embodiments may store a meta-model semantic network that includes a first and second term. Further, both the first and second terms are respectively associated with model and meta-model information. A request to calculate a term similarity value is received. A term similarity value expresses a correlation between the first term and the second term. The term similarity value is then calculated based on a comparison of the model and the meta-model information associated with the first and second terms.
Abstract:
A modular refrigerating appliance comprising a first planar heat-insulating element and additional planar heat-insulating elements, which are joined to one another whereby being able to be detached from one another and which, when joined, form a housing of the refrigerating appliance. The modular refrigerating appliance also has a cooling circuit, which comprises an evaporator, a condenser, and a compressor, and which is mounted on the first planar heat-insulating element. At least the condenser is, at least in part, mechanically protected on its surface facing away from the first heat-insulating element solely by the construction of the first planar heat-insulating element.
Abstract:
A temperature monitoring process for a refrigerator interior and a device for such monitoring. A monitoring unit is formed by a temperature sensitive element and a thermal buffer liquid in a transparent container. The monitoring unit container is placed in the refrigerator in any location to be monitored. The temperature is visually detected by observing a temperature related variable characteristic of the temperature sensitive element, such as the color of one or more areas of the temperature sensitive element.
Abstract:
A cooling device including an inner chamber provided with at least one placement device for objects which are to be placed, such as food. The placement device includes a shelf area which is made of a ceramic material. The placement device can also be, for example, a support plate, a pull-out box or a door storage compartment.
Abstract:
A refrigerating appliance contains an inner chamber that is surrounded by a heat-insulating housing and a door, and can be divided into an upper region and a lower region by a partition wall. The refrigerating appliance also contains a plate-type evaporator that is supported on a wall of the inner chamber. The evaporator extends over at least part of the wall pertaining to the lower region, and the cooling performance of the evaporator, in its part pertaining to the upper or lower region, is such that the temperature reached in the upper region of the inner chamber is lower than that reached in the lower region.
Abstract:
A multi-way valve, particularly for a refrigerant circuit, includes a housing having a number of inlets and outlets and a chamber with a number of seats respectively associated with an inlet or outlet. The multi-way valve also includes a closing element that can move between the seats and at least one actuator, which is provided in the form of an element made of a shape-memory alloy and capable of being displaced from one of the seats when the closing element is heated. The direction of displacement is transversal to the normal direction of the seat.

Abstract:
A household appliance, such as a refrigerator or freezer, having a door and a locking device on the door. The locking device is controlled by a biometric person-identifying device. The biometric identification can be based on recognition of at least one of the person's fingerprint, voice characteristics or iris pattern.
Abstract:
An integrated contact is disposed on the end of a conical coil form. Fine magnet wire is soldered to the integrated contact and wound around the coil form to fabricate a high-frequency inductor for use in high-frequency chokes and other high-frequency devices. In one embodiment, the integrated contact is plated on the tip of a polyiron coil form and less than one turn of wire is wrapped around the plated portion of the polyiron coil form. The integrated contact has reduced contact area, reducing capacitive coupling and improving high-frequency electrical performance.
