    摘要: An electronic device may display image content via a tile-based display by controlling light emission from display pixels of the tile-based display. Based on image data associated with the image content, a processing circuitry of the tile-based display may receive a potential tile boundary. The processing circuitry may resample the image data based on geometry of the tile boundary and positions of the display pixels on the tile-based panel. After resampling the image data, the processing circuitry may adjust gain of the tile boundary display pixels according to a gain mask to compensate for the tile boundary.

    摘要: An electronic device may be provided with a display cover layer mounted to the device using an adhesive bond with a display. The display may be a flexible display. The flexible display may include Organic Light Emitting Diode display technology. The display may be mounted to a rigid support structure. The rigid support structure may be mounted to a device housing member. Mounting the display cover layer to the display may eliminate the need to mount the display cover layer to the device housing and may allow active display pixels to be visible under the display cover layer closer to the device housing than in conventional devices. Providing the electronic device with active display pixels closer to the device housing may reduce the need for an inactive border around the display and may improve the aesthetic appeal of the electronic device.

The display device may also include a replica pixel circuit having a switching device configured to output a first current based on a received voltage, a light-emitting diode (LED) configured to illuminate to a first gray level based on the first current output by the switching device, and current mirror circuitry configured to generate a second current that mirrors the first current. In addition, the replica pixel circuit may include a current source configured to output a reference current based on a voltage value that corresponds to the received voltage, comparator circuitry configured to determine a difference between the second current and the reference current, and voltage adjustment circuitry configured to adjust a source voltage output provided to the plurality of pixels based on the difference.

    摘要: An electronic device may be provided with a display mounted in a housing. The display may include a liquid crystal display module and a reflective polarizer having an in-plane optical axis. The display may also include a backlight unit that includes a light source, a light guide element, and a reflector film coupled to a backside of the light guide element. The display may also include a light retardation layer such as a quarter wave film. The quarter wave film may be arranged between the reflective polarizer and the reflector film of the backlight unit. Partially polarized light that is output from a front side of the light guide element may have a first component parallel to the in-plane optical axis and a second component perpendicular to the in-plane optical axis of the reflective polarizer. The second component may be reflected from the reflective polarizer.

    摘要: An electronic device may include a display having an array of display pixels and having display control circuitry that controls the operation of the display. The display control circuitry may adaptively adjust the display output based on ambient lighting conditions. For example, in cooler ambient lighting conditions such as those dominated by daylight, the display may display neutral colors using a relatively cool white. When the display is operated in warmer ambient lighting conditions such as those dominated by indoor light sources, the display may display neutral colors using a relatively warm white. Adapting to the ambient lighting conditions may ensure that the user does not perceive color shifts on the display as the user's vision chromatically adapts to different ambient lighting conditions. Adaptively adjusting images in this way can also have beneficial effects on the human circadian rhythm by displaying warmer colors in the evening.
