摘要: A control device for a display panel for applications where a frame period in which a same image continues to be displayed varies from frame to frame within a certain range or the frame period is temporarily stable across frames and where a precise frame period is undetermined beforehand. The control device controls the display panel such that, when a frame having a length exceeding a preset number of lines is input, the display panel displays an image over a frame period corresponding to the preset number of lines and an added period added after the frame period. The added period includes one or more individual added periods each including a light emission period and a light extinction period, and the one or more individual added periods are each a period corresponding a predetermined number of lines.

摘要: The present invention includes systems and methods for a multi-primary color system for display. A multi-primary color system increases the number of primary colors available in a color system and color system equipment. Increasing the number of primary colors reduces metameric errors from viewer to viewer. One embodiment of the multi-primary color system includes Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Yellow, and Magenta primaries. The systems of the present invention maintain compatibility with existing color systems and equipment and provide systems for backwards compatibility with older color systems.

摘要: Presented are apparatus, systems and methods for creating tuned color emissions, from lighting and displays, that can be electronically controlled to select a desirable spectrum of wavelengths safer for human vision, for optimal color reproduction, for energy/brightness efficiency, and more. Apparatus including light emitting chips, materials, package design, electronic control devices and circuits, lights, light-fixtures, display panels, visual computing devices and systems, are disclosed. An embodiment is described which is capable of operating in modes, where eye-safe colors are rendered with minimal harmful wavelengths, as well as at least one mode of operation favoring color rendering, and brightness configurations. An embodiment is operable to deliver a paper-like black-on-white viewing experience, in both night-time and day-time operating modes, with reduced high-energy blue-wavelength light spectra. In one embodiment, the light-emitter, controller, display and system are operable to switch between these modes of operation.

摘要: An electrophoretic display device, including an electrophoretic display panel and a display driving module, is provided. The display driving module is coupled to the electrophoretic display panel and is used for driving the electrophoretic display panel. The display driving module generates multiple first grayscale images according to multiple color pixel values of multiple color pixels corresponding to multiple colors of a color image. The display driving module captures multiple grayscale values of multiple locations of multiple first sub-pixels of the first grayscale images according to multiple locations of multiple mask sub-pixels corresponding to the colors in a mask image to generate multiple second grayscale images. The display driving module synthesizes the second grayscale images to generate a synthesized image. The display driving module drives the electrophoretic display panel according to the synthesized image.

摘要: An apparatus includes a light source unit that emits color light beams having different wavelengths; a light intensity modulation element including pixels, and subjecting the color light beams to intensity modulation to generate an image; a diffraction element configured to simultaneously illuminate at least two pixel regions at different pixel positions, with different color light beams, by diffracting the respective color light beams from the light source unit toward pixel regions at different pixel positions on the light intensity modulation element; and a control unit that changes diffraction angles of the respective color light beams in the diffraction element within a predetermined period. The control unit also sequentially switches illumination regions for the pixel regions by the respective color light beams, to allow all of the color light beams to time-divisionally illuminate any pixel region of the pixel regions within the predetermined period.

摘要: A user interface display may have a display and may have a backlight that lights the display. The display may implement pixels to generate colors and images. The display may be backlit. The backlight may use pixels having emitters to generate different color backlighting. In various instances, the display or the backlight or both may include a deep blue emitter. The blue emitter may be used in combination with red and green pixels elements to generate different colors. By implementing deep blue emitters rather than conventional blue (e.g., cyan) emitters, the effects of cyan light on a viewer's circadian rhythm may be limited or eliminated. Moreover, by implementing deep blue emitters, the effects of cyan light on a viewer's circadian rhythm may be varied, while the colors and images are reproduced for viewing without introducing significant color distortion.
