Abstract: In some implementations, a computing device can provide a map application providing a representation of a physical structure of venues (e.g., shopping centers, airports) identified by the application. In addition, the application can provide an inside view that includes the physical layout and geometry of the venue's structure as well as the location, structure and layout of points of interest (e.g., stores, security check points, restrooms) within the venue. The views become more detailed as the user zooms into the venue to reveal points of interest and to give the user a feel for traversing the venue.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the invention pertain to an augmented reality interface for facilitating identification of an arriving vehicle and/or a passenger that improve upon some or all of the above-described deficiencies. According to some embodiments of the invention, a mobile device may be used by a passenger to scan scenery. The mobile device may determine whether and where a requested vehicle is located and display an indicator of the requested vehicle on the mobile device. Similarly, a mobile device may be used by a driver to scan scenery. The mobile device may determine whether and where a passenger is located and display an indicator of the requesting passenger on the mobile device.

Abstract: In some implementations, a computing device can present related points of interest in search results and/or on a map display. For example, the computing device can receive input specifying search parameters. The computing device can obtain search results, including points of interest, associated with the search parameters. The computing device can present the search results such that related points of interest are grouped and/or presented near each other. For example, if a point of interest (e.g., area of interest) corresponds to a geographical area, then the computing device can group the area of interest with other points of interest related to the area of interest. Similarly, when an area of interest is presented on a map display, the geographic area related to the area of interest can be highlighted and related points of interest can be represented on the map display.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to, among other things, monitoring a user device to determine whether a user associated with the device is safe. In some examples, a user (which may be referred to herein as an “initiator” establishes a device monitoring session (which may be referred to herein as “session”) with a user, or a group of users, so that the user(s) are notified either when the initiator has safely ended the device monitoring session or receives access to session data that was collected during the session. In some configurations, the session can be handed off from a first user device that is currently active to a different user device. Instead of the first user device always being the device that interacts with the server, a different first user device may be selected as the active device to interact with the server.
