摘要: A drug delivery device includes a drug product container, a pressurized vessel, and an urging member. The drug product container can have at least one flexible wall and defining a cavity configured to contain a drug product. The pressurized vessel can contain a gas under pressure. And the urging member is in working connection with the pressurized vessel such that, upon at least partial release of the gas under pressure, the urging member moves from a first portion of the drug product container to a second portion, thereby ejecting at least a portion of the drug product from the drug product container.

摘要: A drug delivery device includes a housing releasably coupled with a patient, a pressure chamber disposed in the housing and including a vent, a container at least partially disposed in the pressure chamber for storing a drug connectable in fluid communication with a fluid conduit, an activation mechanism, and a relief mechanism. The activation mechanism releases a pressurized drive fluid into the pressure chamber for expelling the drug from the container into the fluid conduit. The relief mechanism is operably coupled to the fluid conduit and is adapted to open the vent to release the drive fluid from the pressure chamber in response to a predetermined condition.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a wearable drug delivery device including a container filled at least partially with a drug including at least one of a PCSK9 (Proprotein Convertase Subtilisin/Kexin Type 9) specific antibody, a granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), a sclerostin antibody, or a calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) antibody. The wearable drug delivery device may include a needle and an insertion mechanism configured to insert the needle into a patient. A fluid pathway connector may define a sterile fluid flowpath between the container and the insertion mechanism. Optionally, a cannula initially disposed about the needle may be included. The cannula may be retained in the patient at an injection site created by the needle after the needle is withdrawn from the patient. Methods of assembly and operation are also provided.

The plunger loading mechanism may be a spring having a second selected potential energy for reducing or eliminating a distance between the plunger and the stopper, prior to the plunger accelerating to the velocity. The second selected potential energy of the spring may be less than the first selected potential energy of the energy source.

摘要: A device, method, and system for drug delivery includes a casing for housing a drug storage container, the drug storage container including a dose delivery member, at least a portion of the dose delivery member extending through an opening in the casing; a guard movable relative to the casing between extended and retracted positions, the portion of the dose delivery member being surrounded by the guard in the extended position and the portion of the dose delivery member being at least partially exposed when the guard is in the retracted position; an interference arrangement for providing selected threshold of resistance to movement of the guard from the extended position to the retracted position during insertion of the dose delivery member into body tissue at an injection site, the detent arrangement having a first member associated with a surface within the casing, and a second member extending from the guard, the first and second members engaging one another to retain the guard in the extended position, one of the first and second members moving if the selected threshold of resistance is exceeded to allow the members to slide past one another to allow the guard to move into the retracted position when the device is pressed toward the injection site during insertion of the dose delivery member.

摘要: An injection device, method, and system for drug delivery includes a primary container for storing a drug, the container having a stopper movably disposed in the container for expelling the drug, an injection drive mechanism comprising a plunger for acting on the stopper and an energy source for exerting a force on the plunger to cause the plunger to act on the stopper to expel the drug, the force causing the plunger to accelerate to a velocity prior to acting on the stopper, and a damping mechanism for reducing the velocity of the plunger prior to acting on the stopper. The damping mechanism can include a dashpot or an energy absorbing material associated with the plunger. Alternatively or additionally, the damping mechanisms can include absorbing material disposed between support members of an outer casing of the injection device and the primary container.

The wall has at least a first tapered region at the first end to define an opening in fluid communication with the axial passage and adapted at the first end to resist interruption of fluid flow through the axial passage and out of the first end of the blunt cannula. The reservoir is connected to the second end of the blunt cannula.

The drug delivery system may further include one or more sensors coupled to the drug delivery device, and a controller coupled to the one or more sensors and the one or more controllable elements. The controller may be configured to use the one or more sensors to determine a condition or an operational state of the drug delivery device. Furthermore, the controller may be configured to control the controllable element based on the condition or the operational state of the drug delivery device and/or identity information stored in a memory onboard the device. A method for use with a drug delivery device is also disclosed.
