Abstract: An adhesive article including: a flexible backing; a first cushion layer permanently bonded to a first surface of the flexible backing, wherein the first cushion layer: has an average thickness of at least 10 micrometers; and includes an acrylate pressure-sensitive adhesive having a Fox Tg of up to −30° C., wherein the acrylate pressure-sensitive adhesive includes a (meth)acrylate copolymer; and a first continuous shell layer adjacent the first cushion layer, wherein: the first continuous shell layer has an average thickness of up to 25 micrometers; the ratio of the first cushion layer average thickness to the first shell layer average thickness is at least 2:1; the first continuous shell layer includes an adhesive having a Fox Tg of −20° C. to +50° C.; and the first continuous shell layer adhesive includes a copolymer having a weight average molecular weight of at least 100,000 Daltons.

Abstract: A coating composition includes a first polymer and a second polymer that are incompatible and non-reactive with one another. The absolute value of the difference between the refractive index of the first polymer and the refractive index of the second polymer is about 0 to about 0.01. The first polymer and the second polymer are soluble in a carrier liquid that is a good solvent for the first polymer and a poor solvent for the second polymer. The carrier liquid is removed from the coating layer to spinodally decompose the mixture of the first polymer and the second polymer in an amount sufficient to form a substantially continuous first phase with a predominant amount of the first polymer and a substantially discontinuous second phase with a predominant amount the second polymer. At least 70% of the second phase includes droplets with an aspect ratio, when viewed in the plane of the surface of the substrate, of less than about 3.

Abstract: A film is described comprising a first film layer having a Tg ranging from 30° C. to 60° C. The first film layer comprises a (meth)acrylic polymer and polyvinyl acetal polymer composition. The film further comprises a second layer proximate the first film layer. The second layer is different than the first film layer. The second may be a cured (meth)acrylic polymer film or coating; a backing such as thermoplastic polymer, woven or nonwoven fabrics, metal foils, paper, foams; or a coverfilm such as a fluoropolymer.

Abstract: Dual-sided adhesive articles include a first crosslinked pressure sensitive adhesive layer with a first major surface and a second major surface, a second siloxane-based pressure sensitive adhesive layer with a first major surface and a second major surface, such that the first major surface of the second siloxane-based pressure sensitive adhesive layer is in contact with the second major surface of the first crosslinked pressure sensitive adhesive layer. The articles also include a release liner having a microstructured surface with an array of microstructures, where the microstructured surface is in contact with the second major surface of the second siloxane-based pressure sensitive adhesive layer. The microstructures of the microstructured surface of the second siloxane-based pressure sensitive adhesive layer are unstable when not in contact with the microstructured release liner, and disappear over time when in contact with a substrate.

Abstract: A coating composition includes a first polymer and a second polymer that are incompatible and non-reactive with one another. The absolute value of the difference between the refractive index of the first polymer and the refractive index of the second polymer is about 0 to about 0.01. The first polymer and the second polymer are soluble in a carrier liquid that is a good solvent for the first polymer and a poor solvent for the second polymer. The carrier liquid is removed from the coating layer to spinodally decompose the mixture of the first polymer and the second polymer in an amount sufficient to form a substantially continuous first phase with a predominant amount of the first polymer and a substantially discontinuous second phase with a predominant amount the second polymer. At least 70% of the second phase includes droplets with an aspect ratio, when viewed in the plane of the surface of the substrate, of less than about 3.
