A fuel cell separator unit having a crosslinked rubber layer is fabricated by coating a rubber-containing coating agent on the periphery of the surface of a separator to form a thin, unvulcanized rubber layer, and then vulcanizing or crosslinking the thin rubber layer. A tightly sealed fuel cell is constituted by providing both sides of the main body of the fuel cell with separator units fabricated in the manner described above. When a fuel cell separator fabricated through a crosslinking by radioactive ray irradiation, the performance of the fuel cell is not hindered by the ingredient(s) of a rubber packing. The present invention provides a fuel cell sealing structure which ensures a perfect sealing. According to the present invention, a step of attaching a thin rubber packing is no longer necessary.

The present invention provides a transfer material and surface protecting sheet which can provide a molded article excellent in abrasion resistance and chemical resistance without causing crack in curved part of the molded article. The present invention can make possible not to remain fluidity and stickiness on a protecting printed layer prior to irradiation with an active energy ray, even in an inline printing process. A transfer material or a surface protecting sheet of the present invention has, a substrate sheet, a protecting printed layer which consists of an active energy ray curable resin composition comprising a polyaddition reaction product having an urethane bond amount of from 6000 to 50000 g/eq as an effective ingredient on a surface of the substrate sheet, and an additional printed layer on the protecting printed layer or on the opposite surface of the substrate sheet.

An atomic force microscope comprises a probe having a sharply-pointed tip end. The probe is supported on the free end portion of a cantilever and is close to the surface of a specimen. When an interatomic force is produced, the cantilever is deformed, and the probe is displaced. The displacement of the probe is detected by an optical system. A light beam emitted from a light source is collimated by a lens, and reflected by a polarized beam-splitter, and also by a half-mirror. Then, the light beam passes through a quarter wavelength plate and an objective lens, such that the light is converged on the cantilever. The reflected light beam from the cantilever returns along the same optical path and passes through the splitter. The light beam is divided into two light beams at the splitter. These two light beams are reflected by respective prisms and are then incident on respective photodetectors. These photodetectors detect the displacement of the probe.
