Abstract:
Regular shaped magnesium particles containing attrition resistant precursors and procatalysts thereof and processes for their synthesis and their use in the manufacture of polyolefins are described. A process for the synthesis of precursor particles which give highly active and improved surface area procatalysts for producing high bulk density polyolefin resins containing low fines and capable of incorporating high rubber content are described. A process for the synthesis of an attrition resistant precursors to prepare an attrition resistant Zeigler Natta procatalysts synthesized by using the precursors and to the polyolefin resin synthesized using the procatalysts is also described.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a catalyst system for polymerization of propylene, process for preparing polypropylene and to polypropylene prepared by said process. The dual external donor composition of present invention has synergistic effects. It improves the efficiency of polymerization process and product properties for homo grade of polypropylene.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses new class of nitrogen containing external donor systems. These donor systems are used in titanium supported on magnesium dichloride pro-catalyst system for polymerization of propylene. The external donor systems of the present invention in combination with silane show the kinetics control for diester catalyst polymerization process along with stereo regularity control of product. The polypropylene produced using nitrogen containing external donor systems of the present invention have broad molecular weight distribution.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for the synthesis of spheroidal magnesium alkoxide having improved mechanical strength and narrow particle size distribution, the process comprising reacting magnesium metal, in the presence of iodine, with a mixture of alcohols by step-wise heating first in the range of 40° C. to 65° C. for a period of 2 hours and then in the range of 65° C. to 80° C. for a period of 1 hour, further by maintaining reaction temperature at 80° C. for a period of 6-10 hours, the vapors of the mixture produced during the reaction being condensed in an overhead condenser, hydrogen gas produced during the reaction being vented off and the mixture of alcohols left after the reaction being filtered and reused. The invention also relates to spheroidal magnesium alkoxide particles synthesized by the method, to the Ziegler natta procatalyst synthesized by using the alkoxide and to the polymer resin synthesized using the procatalyst.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for the synthesis of a Ziegler Natta procatalyst, the process comprising first treating magnesium alkoxide with a twice used mixed solvent of TiCl4 and chlorobenzene to form a first stage product, then treating the first stage product with a once used mixed solvent of TiCl4 and chlorobenzene to form a second stage product and finally treating the second stage product with mixed solvent recovered by treatment of effluent from the first treatment with benzoyl chloride so as to convert contaminant of formula TiCl3OR in the effluent to an addition complex which is precipitated, filtered off and hydrolyzed to recover ethyl benzoate and to form Ti(OH)4 as a side product, the product after final treatment being subjected to a plurality of successive washing steps with used as well as recovered hexane.
