    Abstract: Provided herein is a method for determining a concentration of a hemoprotein in a test sample, wherein the hemoprotein comprises heme prosthetic group containing porphyrin, the method comprising contacting the test sample with a modification composition comprising at least one modification reagent for degrading the porphyrin, measuring spectrophotometrically a change in an absorbance profile of the porphyrin caused by the degradation, wherein the absorbance profile is measured within a spectrophotometric range of between 510 nm and 590 nm, and determining from the change in the absorbance profile, the concentration of hemoprotein in the sample.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a sample support device for charged particle microscopy and related methods. The device comprises a substrate and a heating and/or biasing element integrated in or on the substrate to heat (or apply a bias voltage to) a sample when positioned in an observation region of the device. The device comprises a membrane covering an opening in the heater element and/or substrate in the observation region of the device. The membrane is perforated to form at least one hole covered by a graphene layer to form a sample support to place a sample of interest thereon for study. A cap covers the membrane such that a chamber is formed in which the sample can be isolated in a controllable gaseous environment.

    Abstract: A device for measuring elasticity of a tissue of an object is disclosed. It comprises a base portion comprising contact means for contacting the tissue. It also comprises a palpation probe for pushing down on the tissue comprising a palpation pen for pushing down the tissue and a force measuring means for determining a palpation force applied to the palpation probe and/or a displacement measuring means for determining a displacement of the palpation pen being representative for a displacement of the tissue. The device also comprises a swiveling handle mounted pivotally to the base portion for positioning the device and for distributing a positioning force along the at least two contact points in a predetermined manner.
