Abstract:
The present invention provides a polyethylene glycol-conjugated erythropoietin (PEG-conjugated EPO) prepared by PEG conjugation on the lysine residue at position 52 of native erythropoietin (native EPO). In order to achieve more sustained efficacy without losing physiological activities of native EPO, a glycoprotein rich in sugar chains, there has been a need to develop a PEG-conjugated EPO with significantly sustained efficacy by introducing a controlled number of PEG molecules at controlled positions. This PEG-conjugated EPO addresses such a need and provides more sustained efficacy.
Abstract:
An interface connected to a local area network is mounted in each of data transfer circuits 19, 1a to 1c, 28, 29 and 36 for establishing logical connection of exchanges to one another such that it can connect a plurality of data transfer circuits provided in each exchange to one another. It is thus possible to obtain joint establishment of a logical mesh structure by individual data transfer circuits and, when a data transfer circuit receives data to be transferred to a different exchange from its own, obtain alleviation of the load in the own exchange with a process of data transfer between the data transfer circuits that is executed by using the local area network side interface.
Abstract:
A system for operating and managing the network equipment is so adapted as to operate and manage a network in which plural computers and network devices are connected to each other. The system is provided with database storing data corresponding to the computers and the network devices and with means for preparing a network specification drawing which satisfies conditions required by the user from the data, for checking the physical data as to whether the network specification satisfies the physical data, for checking the logical data as to whether the network specification satisfies the logical data, and for displaying the network specification drawing in a two-dimensional or three-dimensional manner on the basis of the data stored in the database. The system for operating and managing the network equipment can reduce and simplify management business for network managers as well as management business for managing materials and products by managers managing the materials and products. Further, the system can take necessary measures in case of a fault or a failure of the network and save a resource by sharing the computer resources and the data in an appropriate way.
Abstract:
Artificial leather and a dyeing method therefor; the leather includes ultrafine polyamide fibers and is particularly a grained artificial leather having bright, deep color, good color fastness to dry cleaning with charged soap, a delicate touch free from any undesirable rubber-like feeling, as well as high durability.A super-entangled fiber base is provided comprising ultrafine polyamide fibers and/or bundles thereof; polyurethane including polyoxyethylene of molecular weight of 500-5,000 is applied. The polyamide ultrafine fibers are dyed with a metal-dye complex and a fixing agent.
Abstract:
A vane compressor has a vane back pressure adjustment device including back-pressure chambers defined in a vane-supporting rotor and surrounded by vanes and side blocks secured to axial ends of a cylinder. The back-pressure chamber has axial ends disposed to follow a path against each of the side blocks when the rotor rotates. The path is divided into at least one high-pressure zone in which the vanes move across a pump outlet defined in the cylinder, and at least one normal-pressure zone which is the remainder of the path. In the normal-pressure zone, oil grooves defined in surfaces of the side blocks which face the rotor and supplied with oil from an oil sump in the vane compressor are in communication with the back-pressure chambers, to thereby maintain the oil pressure in the back-pressure chambers at a pressure level in the oil sump. In the high-pressure zone, the back-pressure chambers are out of communication with the oil grooves so that the oil fed into the back-pressure chambers is confined therein, except through a restrictor means. When the vanes move across the pump outlet, the vanes enter the high-pressure zone to trap oil in the back-pressure chambers to thereby elevate the oil pressure in the back-pressure chambers to a high level. Therefore, the vanes are prevented from being retracted deeply into vane slits in the rotor and then popping out into hitting engagement with the cylinder.

Abstract:
A float operated switch (21) is actuated when the level of refrigerant fluid in a reservoir (11) is below a predetermined value to produce an electrical signal. The signal is delayed by 10 to 30 seconds and applied to a switch circuit (54) to disengage an electromagnetic clutch (63) and thereby de-energize a compressor (64). The clutch (63) is also disengaged by the action of a thermal switch (61) when the temperature in a space which is being air conditioned drops below a predetermined value. The operation of the float operated switch (21) is inhibited when the sensed temperature is below the predetermined value and also when a motor which drives the compressor (64) is not operating to prevent erroneous de-energization of the compressor (64).
Abstract:
The object of the present invention is to provide PTH or a PTH derivative, which is modified to attain increased bioavailability without losing PTH activity and to have a reduced risk of side effects. PEG conjugation to PTH or a PTH derivative increases the bioavailability while maintaining PTH activity and also reduces side effects.
Abstract:
A submerged motor pump (4) has an auxiliary bearing assembly (19, 20) for supporting a rotatable main shaft (9) when the submerged motor pump is not in an operating condition or operates in a transient condition. The submerged motor pump includes a pump casing (6), at least one impeller (12), a motor (10,11), and a thrust balancing mechanism (15) for balancing thrust forces. The submerged motor pump further includes hydrostatic bearings (16, 17, 18) for supporting the main shaft at axially spaced locations by a pressurized fluid pumped by the submerged motor pump. The auxiliary bearing assembly has tapered support surfaces (FL, FU) for supporting the main shaft at the axially spaced locations.
