    Abstract: A system and method for decreasing the optical pathway length, varying the characteristics of a WBC system. Through the various embodiments and techniques described herein, high-brightness multi-wavelength output systems may be combined into a single laser system to achieve a more efficient and a higher quality weld between two weld partners. Additionally, the present disclosure provides methods and techniques that account for the differences between dissimilar metals, namely metals having dissimilar thicknesses, melting points, thermal conduciveness, and/or thermal expansion coefficients.
