The invention is directed to bioengineered vascular graft support prostheses prepared from cleaned tissue material derived from animal sources. The bioengineered graft prostheses of the invention are prepared using methods that preserve cell compatibility, strength, and bioremodelability of the processed tissue matrix. The bioengineered graft prostheses are used for implantation, repair, or for use in a mammalian host.

The invention concerns 2,N.sup.6 -disubstituted and 2,N.sup.6 -trisubstituted adenosine nucleosides in which the sugar component is substituted at position 3' or position 5' by a phosphite or phosphoramidite group of the formula: ##STR1## R.sub.1 representing a lower alkyl or --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --CN with n being an integer between 1 and 4, and X representing a halogen or an amine group. These nucleosides make it possible to prepare sequences of nucleotides usable, in particular, as probes in the field of analyses and biological extractions.

A manually actuated cartridge valve assembly (15) has a main body (31), a valve assembly (33), and an end assembly (35). Disposed within an internal cavity (107) of the end assembly (35) is a rotary member (109) that rotates about an axis (115) when a handle (29) is manually actuated. The axis (115) is substantially perpendicular to the axis (73) of the spool valve (49). The rotary member (109) has at least one axial end (117) that extends through the outer surface of the end assembly (35) and attaches to the handle (29). The movement of the handle (29) defines a plane of movement (147), which is selectively rotatable about the axis (73) to a desired orientation (149). A locking member (99) is selectively operably associated with the end assembly (35) to restrict rotation of the plane of movement (147).

A relief valve assembly (27) for use with first (15) and second (21) conduits, one communicating high pressure. The assembly comprises a housing (29,33) defining first (45) and second (47) ports, and a poppet seat (49). A poppet member (43) and the housing define a spring chamber (55), and a spring (39) is disposed to bias the poppet member toward the seat. The poppet member defines a shuttle cavity (51), a shuttle passage (53) communicating from the cavity to the spring chamber, and the poppet defining a seat (57), and a fluid passage (61P) communicating with the first port, and a seat (59), and a second fluid passage (63) communicating with the second port. A shuttle valve assembly (71,73,75) is provided, whereby the fluid pressure in whichever of the ports is at lower pressure is communicated to the spring chamber and adds to the force of the biasing spring.

A nuclear medicine imaging system provides three-axis linear and rotary detector motion. The imaging system includes an overhead gantry, which includes a carriage supported above the object and movable in translation along a first horizontal axis. Support arms are suspended downward from the carriage and are movable along a second horizontal axis perpendicular to the first horizontal axis. A detector is coupled to a lower end of each support arm. Each support arm is retractably extendible along a substantially vertical axis, and each detector is pivotable about a horizontal axis parallel to the first horizontal axis. Each support arm cooperates with the carriage to enable the corresponding detector to be positioned at multiple angular positions about a longitudinal axis corresponding to multiple projection angles by using combinations of independent linear movements of the detectors along any of three perpendicular axes.

The glycosylphospholipid nucleoside derivatives of the invention are based on the formula: ##STR1## wherein: R.sub.1 is a nucleoside derivative selected from the group consisting of 3'-azidothymidine (AZT); 2', 3'-dideoxythymidine (ddT); and 2'-deoxy-5-fluorouridine (dFU);R.sub.2 is a hexose or pentose sugar, with the exception of glucose when x is 1;A is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl or alkoxy chain containing from 5 to 20 carbon atoms, said alkyl or alkoxy chain having at its extremity a group selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom and an NR'R" group, wherein R' and R" represent hydrogen or an alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms;x is a number from 1 to 12;y is a number from 1 to 4; andz is 0 or 1; and further wherein:attachment of said hexose sugar is at position 1 or position 6 of said hexose sugar, and attachment of said pentose sugar is at position 1 or position 5 of said pentose sugar. The derivatives of the invention are useful for producing pharmaceutical compositions having, in particular, anti-vital properties.
