    摘要: This present invention is a system and method to adjust a searcher threshold parameter of a RAKE receiver. The adjusting system includes a searcher, a power estimator, and a parameter control apparatus. When the searcher finds and acquires a new path signal, the power estimator will estimate the power of the new path signal and that of the other path signals. The parameter control apparatus will calculate and monitor the power ratio corresponding to the new path signal. If the power ratio remains smaller than a predetermined power ratio parameter for a first predetermined times, the parameter control apparatus will increase the value of the threshold parameter. If the power ratio remains unchanged for a second predetermined times, the parameter control apparatus will lower the value of the threshold parameter. After that, the searcher will acquire the path signals among the multipath signal being searched in accordance with the adjusted threshold parameter. With this adjusted threshold parameter, the present invention can improve the sensitivity of the searcher, acquire the correct path signals in various environments, and provide the correct position of the path signal to the RAKE receiver.

    摘要: A method for performing frame synchronization in a WCDMA system includes first, correlating a received signal with a plurality of predetermined correlators to obtain a plurality of frame synchronization correlation results, then, coherently combining frame synchronization correlation results with a slot synchronization phase when a test phase difference is less than a threshold phase difference, or, coherently combining frame synchronization correlation results with a linear combination of slot synchronization phases when the test phase difference is greater than or equal to the threshold phase difference. The slot synchronization phase is determined by correlating the received signal with a slot synchronization sequence. Lastly, the method determines a frame boundary of the received signal based on the coherent combination results. The method accommodates for a changing signal to noise ratio to improve frame synchronization speed and accuracy.

    摘要: A method and system thereof for determining feedback for iterative channel estimation based on the summation of soft output decisions or Bit Error Rate (BER) derived from the output of an equalizer. The channel impulse response initially obtained according to a training sequence is used to estimate the received signal, and output hard values. The BER of the training sequence is calculated and judged, and if the BER is too high, the channel is estimated again according to the feedback until the BER satisfies a predetermined value. If the BER is still unsatisfactory after a predetermined number of trials, the channel is assumed to be an authentic bad channel, thus terminating the feedback procedure. If the equalizer is capable of outputting soft output decision, the summation of soft outputs is used instead of BER to determine whether feedback is appropriate.

    摘要: An image surveillance system, an image capturing apparatus, and a multimedia apparatus are provided. The image surveillance system includes an image capturing module, a first digital modulating module, a second digital modulating module, and a multimedia module. The image capturing module produces an image signal. The first digital modulating module includes a first digital modulator and a first analog-to-digital/digital-to-analog (AD/DA) converter to receive the image signal and modulate the same into a digital stream. The second digital modulating module includes a second digital modulator and a second AD/DA converter and is connected to the first AD/DA converter through a coaxial cable. The second digital modulator receives the digital stream and modulates the digital stream into image data. The multimedia module is electrically connected to the second digital modulating module and receives the image data.

    摘要: A method for channel estimation is provided. Firstly is to estimate channel impulse response (CIR) of training sequence. Next is to generate a soft data by means of an equalizer according to the CIR of the training sequence. Subsequently is to estimate CIRs of data sequences according to the interposed training sequence by correlation channel estimation. Next is to define a weight by means of auto-correlation of the estimated data sequence and then to cancel the interference of channel by the weight. Finally is to use the soft data and the non-interference CIR to find out the data stored in the data sequence.

    摘要: A path metric computation method and apparatus for estimating a maximum likelihood sequence in a wireless communication network. The proposed method applies the statistical properties of estimated channel impulse response to reduce the computational load. A threshold is set to check the significance of each autocorrelation value in order to determine the contribution to the path metric increment. The corresponding terms in the path metric equation with insignificant autocorrelation values are thus discarded to reduce the complexity of path metric computation.
