摘要: Provided is a cell pack having a restraint mechanism which withstands high restraining pressure. A cell pack includes a plurality of unit cells and a restraint mechanism for restraining these unit cells. The restraint mechanism includes: a first end plate portion disposed at an end portion in a first direction of the arrangement direction of the plurality of unit cells; a second end plate portion disposed at an end portion in a second direction of the arrangement direction of the plurality of unit cells; and a ring-shaped restraining hoop portion including a first support portion disposed on a surface of the first end plate portion in the first direction, a second support portion disposed on a surface of the second end plate portion in the second direction, and a pair of side wall portions continuously connecting the first support portion and the second support portion along the arrangement direction.

摘要: Set forth herein are pellets, thin films, and monoliths of lithium-stuffed garnet electrolytes having engineered surfaces. These engineered surfaces have a list of advantageous properties including, but not limited to, low surface area resistance, high Li+ ion conductivity, low tendency for lithium dendrites to form within or thereupon when the electrolytes are used in an electrochemical cell. Other advantages include voltage stability and long cycle life when used in electrochemical cells as a separator or a membrane between the positive and negative electrodes. Also set forth herein are methods of making these electrolytes including, but not limited to, methods of annealing these electrolytes under controlled atmosphere conditions. Set forth herein, additionally, are methods of using these electrolytes in electrochemical cells and devices. The instant disclosure further includes electrochemical cells which incorporate the lithium-stuffed garnet electrolytes set forth herein.

摘要: An anode-free lithium metal battery has a cathode current collector, a cathode comprising cathode active material, an electrolyte on the cathode opposite the cathode current collector, a first layer of particles deposited on the electrolyte, and an anode current collector. Each particle of the first layer consists of a first portion of a material having affinity to the electrolyte and a second portion of a material having affinity to lithium, the first portion and the second portion being discrete portions. Each particle is positioned such that the first portion is in contact with the electrolyte and the second portion faces the anode current collector.

摘要: A flexible all-solid-state battery including a layer of a solid-state polymer electrolyte arranged between a layer of a separator supporting the solid-state polymer electrolyte and a layer including a negative electrode active material is provided. In the flexible all-solid-state battery, the separator may include a woven fabric, a knit, or a non-woven cloth of an inorganic fiber or a polymeric fiber of 1 g/m2 to 70 g/m2 with a thickness in a range from 1 μm to 100 μm, an oxide ceramic particle layer including oxide ceramic particles with a particle size from 1 μm to 20 μm at a filling rate in a range from 5% to 60%, or a complex of the woven fabric, the knit, or the non-woven cloth and the oxide ceramic particles.

Further provided herein is a method of deconstructing and recycling the all-solid-state electrochemical metal cell.

摘要: Secondary batteries and methods of manufacture thereof are provided. A secondary battery can comprise an offset between electrode and counter-electrode layers in a unit cell. Secondary batteries can be prepared by removing a population of negative electrode subunits from a negative electrode sheet, the negative electrode sheet comprising a negative electrode sheet edge margin and at least one negative electrode sheet weakened region that is internal to the negative electrode sheet edge margin, removing a population of separator layer subunits from a separator sheet, and removing a population of positive electrode subunits from a positive electrode sheet, the positive electrode sheet comprising a positive electrode edge margin and at least one positive electrode sheet weakened region that is internal to the positive electrode sheet edge margin, and stacking members of the negative electrode subunit population, the separator layer subunit population and the positive electrode subunit population.
