Abstract:
A wind deflector for a vehicle roof which may be opened, having a displaceable cover element, comprising a stretchable deflector element made from a flat, flexible material and which with its lower edge region is fastened to a fixed roof portion via a lower edge strip and with its upper edge region is fastened to a pivotable extending clip via an upper edge strip. The upper edge strip and the lower edge strip are components of a peripheral plastics edge encapsulation of the deflector element.
Abstract:
A friction wheel drive for an internal combustion engine's a unit belt drive for a secondary unit includes a control system, a friction wheel that engages frictionally with an outer side of a belt in a wrap-around portion of a drive wheel of the internal combustion engine and that is controlled by the control system to engage or disengage frictionally with a drive wheel of the secondary unit, and a guidance system having an arc section for guiding the movement of the friction wheel with the control system. The arc section is arranged equidistant from the axis of rotation of the drive or driven wheel relative to the driven wheel to the outside of the belt in the wrap-around portion for turning the secondary unit on and off.
Abstract:
An exhaust turbocharger with a housing, a compressor arranged in a compressor space and an exhaust turbine is arranged in a turbine space, whereby an exhaust line from the turbine outlet is connected to a low-pressure side of the compressor space via an exhaust recirculation line which extends through the housing and is designed largely in a spiral form in the housing. The recirculated exhaust gas flow arrangements improve the dynamics by providing higher turbocharger rotational speeds in the partial load range due to the production of a pre-twist by the exhaust recirculation stream.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a control rod for an adjustable closing element or a vehicle roof. The adjustable closing element is designed to selectively close a roof opening in a closing position or at least partly release same in further positions. The control rod is formed from a drawn steel spring wire.

Abstract:
A belt drive for a secondary unit of an internal combustion engine includes a friction wheel drive having a friction wheel, a cam device for adjusting the engagement of the friction wheel to the drive wheel of the secondary unit, the cam device having a cam, a swivel arm by which the friction wheel is connected to the cam which is rotationally mounted on a side of the engine, and a spring biasing the swivel arm in a tension direction. The friction wheel is in permanent position of frictional engagement with a drive wheel of the secondary unit to drive the secondary unit and with an outside of a belt on a drive wheel of the internal combustion engine or of another secondary unit.
Abstract:
A split bearing arrangement in a machine housing, particularly a crankshaft journal bearing for piston machines. The split bearing arrangement including a bearing block and a bearing cover that are made of materials of different hardnesses. In order to provide a material anchoring between the bearing cover and the bearing block that can be subjected to high loads and is cost-effective to produce, the bearing arrangement provides the bearing cover, which is made of an iron material, with cutting-edge like projections protruding above its clamping faces and, furthermore, provides grooves in the corresponding clamping faces of the bearing cover and the bearing block. These grooves in an initial mounting of the bearing cover with the required force serve to receive the material of the bearing block that is displaced in the pressing-in process when the projections are pressed into the opposite clamping faces of the bearing block, which is made of a light metal.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a sliding-roof frame of a roof-opening system of a motor vehicle in a tool having at least one mold cavity. One embodiment comprises the steps of: inserting at least one semifinished part configured in the shape of a panel into the tool; deep-drawing the semifinished part in the tool for configuring at least one deep-drawn section of the sliding-roof frame, wherein the semifinished part is formed from a glass-fiber reinforced thermoplastic and the step of deep drawing is a thermoforming process; then, introducing a plastic material into the mold cavity of the tool for forming at least one formed section, which is injection-molded or foamed, and for bonding said formed section to the deep-drawn section; and demolding the sliding-roof frame from the tool.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a shade assembly for a transparent bodywork surface (10) of a vehicle, said assembly comprising at least one section of variable light transmission. The assembly comprises at least one film, whose light transmission characteristics can be modified by the application of an electric current. According to the invention, the film forms part of a displaceable window blind web (12). The invention also relates to a vehicle roof comprising a roof opening, which is closed by a transparent pane (10) and can be shaded by a shade assembly as cited in the invention.
