摘要: Aspects of the present disclosure involve fluid partitioning characteristics of removable and replaceable absorbent core components used with disposable absorbent articles. A replaceable core component can be constructed to have fluid partitioning characteristics that reduce the need to replace the chassis of the absorbent article as often as well as providing comfort to the wearer. The more fluid a replaceable core component absorbs and extracts from the chassis results in correspondingly less fluid that will remain in the chassis when the replaceable core component is removed and replaced. The ability of a replaceable core component to absorb and extract fluid from the chassis of an absorbent article may be evaluated by measuring the fluid partitioning values of the replaceable core component and absorbent article. Fluid partitioning values provide an indication of the percentage of a quantity of fluid discharged into the chassis that is absorbed by the replaceable core component.

摘要: An absorbent article having a distribution member comprising non-biopersistent inorganic vitreous microfibers. The microfibers have an average effective diameter between about 0.1 micron and about 6 microns and are arranged in a fibrous assembly having a basis weight between about 40 g/m2 and about 350 g/m2 and a density between about 0.04 g/m3 and about 0,25 g/m3. In preferred embodiments, the fibrous assembly can vertically wick a 0.9% saline solution to a height of 5 cm in less than about 5 minutes.

摘要: Disclosed in the present application are absorbent polymer compositions useful in the absorption of body fluids such as urine, menses and the like. In particular, the invention relates to mixed-bed ion-exchange absorbent polymer compositions having excellent absorbency performance properties in terms of absorbent capacity under a confining pressure of 0.7 psi and/or 1.4 psi. Certain mixed-bed ion-exchange absorbent polymer compositions of the present invention have excellent absorbency properties not only for a synthetic urine with a composition and ionic strength that is typical of young infants but also for a high ionic strength synthetic urine that has a composition and ionic strength that is typical of the urine of older infants and toddlers. The invention also relates to absorbent members comprising the mixed-bed ion-exchange absorbent polymer compositions, and absorbent articles comprising the absorbent members.
