    摘要: A location appending system appends location information concerning a mobile unit to a communication passing through a gateway between a wireless network and the Internet, the communication sent by the mobile unit. The location appending system includes a gateway interface, an Internet request parsing unit, a location determination unit and a wireless network interface. The gateway interface allows the location parsing system to operate in conjunction with the gateway. The Internet request parsing unit parses communications passing through the gateway and determines which of the communications require location information. The location determination unit identifies the associated mobile unit and produces a locate request that includes the identity of the mobile unit. The wireless network interface forwards the locate request to the wireless network receives a locate response from the wireless network. The location determination then determines the location information based upon the locate response. Then, either the location appending system or gateway appends the location information to the communication. The location appending system may include a database that couples to the location determination unit which contains cross-reference information that is used by the location determination unit in determining the location information. The location information may include a zipcode corresponding to a current location of the mobile unit, longitude and latitude information corresponding to a current location of the mobile unit or other location specific information. The communication may comprise markup language.

    摘要: A method of updating mobility information for a Mobile End System (MES) in a Cellular Digital Packet Data network uniquely identifies a Serving Mobile Data Intermediate System (MDIS) in a ReDirect Request (RDR) so that the Location Update Service (LUS) can complete its location updating operations. Upon attachment of the MES to the Serving MDIS, a RDR is created that includes a LUS address of the Serving MDIS and a Forwarding Service address (FSA) of the Serving MDIS. The RDR is then transmitted to a Home MDIS corresponding to the MES via a network backbone. The Forwarding Service address of the MES is then updated to the Forwarding Service address of the Serving MDIS. Then, the Home MDIS creates an RDC that includes as a destination address the LUS address of the Serving MDIS and transmits to the RDC to the Serving MDIS via the network backbone. Once the LUS operations are complete, data intended for the MES received at the Home MDIS is routed based upon the FSA of the Serving MDIS. The data is received by the Home MDIS and routed via a Mobile Data Base Station to the MES. In an alternate operation, the LUS address of the Serving MDIS is not appended to the RDR by the Serving MDIS but is be appended to the RDR by an Intermediate MDIS should the RDR be routed to the Home MDIS by way of an intermediate MDIS. When the Intermediate MDIS receives the RDR, it determines that it is not the Home MDIS and appends the LUS address to the RDR. The Intermediate MDIS then transmits the RDR to the Home MDIS.

    摘要: A method and apparatus of routing a call in a femtocell network are disclosed. In one example call routing method, a call is originated from the mobile station via a femtocell access point and the call is transmitted to a femtocell gateway, a mobile switching center and a carrier gateway server and onto an enterprise gateway server to obtain policy information. A routing policy is determined based on the obtained policy information and the call is routed to its destination based on the routing policy. The call may be routed via local media from a femtocell access point directly to the enterprise gateway server. The call routing procedures may implement the Iuh protocol and/or the session initiation protocol (SIP) for call signaling in the femtocell network. Call routing may be performed in a wireless cellular communications network or an enterprise network environment.
