    摘要: An airtight container manufacturing method includes the steps of exhausting an inside of a container through a through-hole provided in the container, and arranging a spacer member along a periphery of the through-hole on an outer surface of the container. Additional steps include arranging a plate member having, at its periphery, grooves penetrating the plate member in its plate thickness direction so that a sealant will flow from the grooves to a side surface of the spacer member, with the spacer member and the through-hole covered by the plate member, and a gap is formed along the side surface of the spacer member between the plate member and the outer surface of the container, and sealing the container by arranging a cover member to cover the plate member via a sealant. The sealing step includes hardening the sealant after deforming the sealant by pressing the plate member with the cover member so that the sealant flows between the cover member and the outer surface of the container via the grooves and the gap is infilled with the sealant.

    摘要: A joining material like an In film having a low melting point forms a surface oxide film when melted. If the oxide film is thick, an uneven surface shape will remain as it is, and can cause vacuum leakage during vacuum sealing. This problem is solved, for example, by placing particles of a refractory material inside the low melting joining material. The particles of the refractory material serve as a holding member for the low melting material and break the oxide film during a joining operation to bring the seal bonding with the low melting material to perfection.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method for fabricating an envelope, which has a high freedom of process, is economical and allows an easy process management. The method aims to fabricate an envelope formed by sealing first and members, the envelope having a vacuum space therein, and basically comprises a step of baking the first and second members in vacuum in a first chamber, a carrying step of carrying the first and second members subjected to baking from the first chamber to a second chamber in an atmosphere in which an air having a predetermined dew point is maintained at a temperature exceeding such dew point, and a sealing step of sealing the first and second members in vacuum in the second chamber thereby forming the envelope. The method allows to economically provide an image display device and an image display apparatus of satisfactory display quality.
