    摘要: A constant-head soil permeameter for determining hydraulic conductivity of earthen materials is inserted into a borehole at the desired test depth. A calibrated reservoir, disposed on the ground surface, is attached thereto with a suitable length of hose. Water is added to the calibrated reservoir and allowed to flow freely into the borehole until an equilibrium level is reached in the borehole and inside the soil permeameter. The water flowing to the permeameter is throttled by buoyant float pressure that is greatly increased by a single lever, lever-lever, or lever-link-lever valve control assembly which provides considerable versatility and mechanical advantage, thereby allowing more constant head control and much greater depths of testing than previously attained by known permeameters. A filtered vent system, backflow check valve, and seals restrict entry of soil particles and debris, thereby minimizing cleaning and maintenance of the invention. The soil permeability is determined by solving appropriate mathematical equations which utilize the equilibrium height of water, rate of water flow, and dimensions of the borehole as input parameters.

    摘要: A keyboard is assembled by providing first and second electrically conductive strips of layers and first and second electrically insulative strips of layers, forming the layers into a desired configuration and laminating them together with the respective insulative layers intermediate and on top of the conductive layers. Switching areas are delineated on at least one of the conductive layers and are joined to each other and are provided with output leads by conductive paths configured from the conductive layer. The interposed insulative layer is formed with a plurality of apertures located so that an aperture can be aligned with each switching area. After the layers are laminated together they are blanked out from the strips and holes and punched out through the four layers to sever selected conductive paths and form a preselected circuit pattern.

Each data input device comprises a housing having a flexible electrically conductive disc disposed therein and adapted upon flexure to close a selected circuit path on the board. Stand-off surfaces project from the housing to space the housing from the board to facilitate flushing of the board.

    摘要: There is disclosed an improved load supporting hinge structure which includes bearing units disposed between adjacent knuckles of the leaves of the hinge to afford both the desired support and smooth operation thereof. Each of the knuckles of the hinge structure includes a central axial bore, the bores being aligned coaxially. Each of the ball-bearing units includes an axially outer and an axially inner race member and a train of bearing members mounted for movement therebetween. The respective race members are constructed so that the bearing unit can accommodate both vertical and horizontal loads, with uniform loading of the load supporting bearing elements being attained by provision for slight relative movement between the race members and the bearing elements.
