An information processing apparatus includes a specifying unit, an identification information obtaining unit, a state information obtaining unit, a display setting obtaining unit, and a processing unit. The specifying unit specifies data displayed on a display screen. The identification information obtaining unit obtains identification information identifying an operator who performs an operation on the data on the display screen. The state information obtaining unit obtains state information representing a display state of an operation unit, which is used for performing an operation on the data on the display screen. The display setting obtaining unit obtains setting about display of the operation unit. The processing unit performs, when a predetermined storage operation of storing a display state of the operation unit is performed by the operator, a process of storing the state information in association with the specified data and the identification information.

An information management system which enables analysis on basis of a processing history of content with use of a portable displaying-and-recording medium, includes a log recording function of managing user identification data to specify a user who owns the portable displaying-and-recording medium and content identification data to specify content, and recording the user identification data and the content identification data in an associated manner after the user performs processing of the content. Preferably, the portable displaying-and-recording medium records/retains data in a state where content is displayed and is capable of rewriting the content.

Various settings are stored into a setting storage table for stop-key processing. These settings are related to a job kind where an operation is stopped by manipulating a stop key, a job kind where an operation is made to pause, and a job kind where an operation is continued without any interruption. When the stop key is manipulated, the job set to the stop operation is directly stopped, and the job set to the execution continuation is continuously executed. The jobs set to the pausing operations are displayed in a list. These jobs are selected one by one, or in a batch mode. Thereafter, either the stop operation or the restart operation is instructed. Accordingly, even under such an environment that a plurality of jobs are executed in a parallel manner; a desirable job can be quickly stopped, and moreover, lowering of throughputs of other jobs can be suppressed.
