Abstract: An image processing device includes a first generation unit, a second generation unit, and a control unit. The first generation unit controls a direction of a first image according to a first setting that is a setting for processing of rotation or inversion to generate a second image. The second generation unit controls a direction of the second image according to a second setting that is a setting for processing of rotation or inversion to generate a third image. The control unit 1) controls a display unit to display the third image, and 2) controls the direction of the second image so as to cancel control by the first generation unit to control the second generation unit so that a fourth image is generated and controls the display unit so that the fourth image is displayed regardless of the second setting in response to a first trigger.

Abstract: The method and system for generating sample labels is disclosed. The method includes receiving, from a user, a selection of: one or more icons from a plurality of icons; and one or more backgrounds from a plurality of backgrounds. The method further includes creating a first plurality of variation-icons corresponding to each of the one or more icons, by applying one or more pre-augmentation operations to each of the one or more icons and selecting a set of variation-icons from a second plurality of variation-icons corresponding to the one or more icons, based on dimensions of each variation-icon of the set of variation-icons and predefined dimensions of a sample label template. The method further includes applying a background to the sample label template and positioning the set of variation-icons in the sample label template over the background, to generate a sample label.

Abstract: A method for determining an articulation angle between a towing vehicle and a trailer, wherein the trailer can be imaged in single images with single-image pixels using a camera system. The method includes determining a point cloud from at least one single image and forming at least one planar reference surface from adjacent object points of the point cloud that lie in a same plane. The method further includes reading in at least one single image, in which the trailer coupled to the towing vehicle is imaged, and determining at least one partial surface and fitting the at least one previously formed planar reference surface to the at least one determined partial surface by applying a geometric transformation. The method further includes determining the articulation angle between the towing vehicle and the trailer as a function of a rotational component of the applied geometric transformation.

Abstract: Identifying a specular surface, such as a mirror, in a captured scene includes extracting, from one or more images of the scene, a set of natural features and generating, from the image, a set of synthesized “mirrored” features. One or more correspondences may be determined between the set of natural features in the image and the set of synthesized mirrored features. A first set of features are identified based on the determined one or more correspondences as representing a specular surface (e.g., a mirror) located in the scene, and then a geometry and/or location of the specular surface within the scene may be determined. For example, in some embodiments, the feature from a determined pair of corresponding features in a scene that is determined to be farther away from the device that captured the image(s) of the scene may be determined to be the feature lying on the specular surface.

Abstract: A vehicle includes a system that performs a method for aligning a first camera and a second camera to a reference frame of the vehicle. The first camera has a first coordinate system, and the second camera has a second coordinate system. The first camera obtains a first image. The processor is configured to obtain a first camera-to-ground transformation matrix for the first camera using the first image, wherein the first camera-to-ground transformation matrix relates the first coordinate system to a ground coordinate system, obtain a camera-to-camera transformation matrix between the first coordinate system of the first camera and the second coordinate system of the second camera, calculate a constructed camera-to-ground transformation matrix for the second camera using the first camera-to-ground transformation matrix and the camera-to-camera transformation matrix, and update the second coordinate system of the second camera using the constructed camera-to-ground transformation.
