    摘要: A substantially closed vapor control system is provided for recovering volatilized vapors released during the filling of storage and other types of tanks with hydrocarbons or other volatile chemicals. An inert gas is supplied to thetank and mixes with the volatilized vapors during loading of the hydrocarbon or chemical to produce an inflammable vapor mixture. The vapor mixture is then subjected to a two-stage compression and separation process to condense and separate the volatilized vapors from the inert gas. The condensed volatilized vapor is then returned to the storage tank while the inert gas is liquefied and stored for subsequent delivery to the storage tank when the hydrocarbon or chemical is unloaded from the tank.

    摘要: An anti-corrosion sealing assembly for use between a protective casement sleeve and a pipe to be protected is disclosed. The pipe extends through the protective casement sleeve such that an annular casement cavity is formed therebetween. The sealing assembly includes a muff arrangement secured between outer surface portions of the casement sleeve and the pipe at each end of the casement sleeve. More particularly, inner and outer muffs are secured about outer perimeter portions of the pipe and the casement sleeve at each end of the casement sleeve such that the outer muff totally encompasses the inner muff thereby forming a mold cavity therebetween. Each outer muff further includes a pouring spout into which a sealing compound may be poured. Furthermore, an injection tube extends through the inner and outer muffs and opens into the annular casement cavity to permit a corrosion inhibitor to be injected therein.

    摘要: A method for the distillative separation of a feed stream containing light hydrocarbons and acid gas components in a distillative column into an enriched overhead product, such as a carbondioxide fraction, and an enriched bottom product of C.sub.2 + and hydrogen sulfide, the method which comprises: introducing a liquid alkane additive into the column, to provide a relatively uniform, constant temperature zone in the column above the point of feed inlet of the feed stream; extracting heat from the upper portion of the low-temperature zone; and introducing heat into the lower portion of the temperature zone approximately at or above the feed inlet of the feed stream, to reduce the energy requirement of the distillation.

    摘要: An improvement in a Ryan/Holmes separation of methane from carbon dioxide is disclosed wherein the upper portion of a distillation column is operated, i.e., -70.degree. F., while still effectuating a separation of methane from carbon dioxide. This is achieved by increasing the amount of nonpolar liquid agent added to the condenser of the column to an amount sufficient to maintain the condenser and all portions of the column above such temperatures.
