摘要： A controller is disclosed that controls an entertainment system which includes a video display unit that is separate from the controller. The controller includes a network interface, a display device, and a processing device. The network interface communicates with the video display unit via at least one data network. The processing device communicates a first command over the at least one data network to control a display of first content on the video display unit, and controls a display of second content on the display device of the controller. The second content is displayed concurrently with the first content. Related entertainment systems are disclosed.

摘要： A communication device locates a preferable wireless service provider in a multi-service provider environment using a frequency band search schedule. Initially, the communications device registers with a less preferred service provider in a first frequency band. While remaining registered with the less preferred service provider, the device examines several frequency bands in the order specified by the frequency band search schedule. A frequency band is examined by dividing the frequency band into many sub-bands, and by locating the strongest signal above a threshold within the sub-band being examined. The examination continues until a second frequency band having a more preferred service provider is located. The communication device then registers with the more preferred service provider. The category of service provider may be identified and displayed on the communication device.

Initially, the communication device registers with a less preferred service provider in a first frequency. The device determines whether the last frequency used by the communication device has a more preferred service provider. If the last frequency used does not have a more preferred service provider, the device examines each of the plurality of frequencies in the predetermined order in the search schedule. The examination continues until another frequency band having a more preferred service provider is located. The communication device then registers with the more preferred service provider.

摘要： A device including two modules is provided for transferring data signals from a first transmission medium to a second transmission medium. One module includes a conductive housing having a first end and a second end. An electrical connector is mounted at the first end of the housing and is configured to mate to a corresponding connector associated with the first transmission medium. The housing includes a flexible metallic shielded cable extending from the second end. The remote end of the shielded cable is connected to the second module which is configured to mate to a corresponding connector associated with the second transmission medium. The device is pluggable into two system hosts, simultaneously. The modules are each hot pluggable. The device acts as a serial patch cord between the two system hosts, with a standard form factor module plugged into the system hosts at either end.

The module includes a metallized housing having a first end and a second end. A shielded electrical connector is mounted at the first end of the housing and configured to mate to a corresponding host connector associated with a first transmission medium. The housing includes a flexible metallic shielded cable extending from the second end. The remote end of the shielded cable comprises the media interface which includes an interface connector configured to the connect flexible shielded cable to the second transmission medium.
