Methods and apparatus are disclosed relating to the stimulating of tissue including nerve tissue based on combinations of capacitors and resistors. Application and removal of voltage to an electrical circuit is taught as part of a method of creating voltage waveforms for nerve and other tissue with such waveforms creating neural signals.

The present invention relates to a novel function of lysyl tRNA synthetase (KRS) which enhances tumor cell migration and affects cancer metastasis via KRS's interaction with laminin receptor (67LR) by its translocation to membrane. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method for modulating cancer metastasis or migration, which comprises regulating intracellular levels of KRS; a composition for preventing or treating cancer; use of expression vector for inhibiting the expression of KRS; a method for preventing or treating cancer; use of an agent for inhibiting an activity of KRS; a method for screening an agent which modulates cancer metastasis or migration; and a method for screening an agent which inhibits the interaction of KRS with 67LR, by said novel function. Thus, KRS can modulate cancer metastasis or migration and furthermore, can modulate intra-cellular metabolism related to 67LR. The interaction between KRS and 67LR can be used effectively in treating, preventing and/or diagnosing of various diseases or disorders related to the interaction.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for blocking a specific network in a mobile communication terminal are provided. The method includes adding a first network to a blocked network list, when the first network is the only network available to provide service to a terminal, temporarily removing the first network from the blocked network list and temporarily receiving service from the first network. Thus, the user does not have to pay roaming fees in the unwanted network, suffer from undesired communication quality, or use unwanted additional functions.

A common power control channel transmission device for a base station in a CDMA communication system is provided having a selector for receiving power control commands to be transmitted to multiple subscribers and multiplexing the received power control commands; and a spreading modulator for spreading an output of the selector by multiplying the output of the selector by a spreading sequence. The common power control channel transmission device can be used to control power of a reverse link common channel. For the power control of the reverse link common channel, the base station receives a signal from a mobile station via the reverse link common channel, and transmits to the mobile station a power control command for controlling a transmission power of the reverse link common channel according to a measured strength of the received signal.

A CDMA communication system transmitting/receiving control information during a voice and/or data communication service by using a dedicated control channel. A message frame length for the control information is variable according to an amount of the control information. The CDMA communication system includes a base station device and a terminal device. The base station device has a forward pilot channel generator for generating a pilot signal, a forward dedicated control channel generator for generating a control message for a forward dedicated control channel, a forward fundamental channel generator for generating a voice signal, and a forward supplemental channel generator for generating packet data. The terminal device has a terminal device including, a reverse dedicated control channel generator for generating a control message for a reverse dedicated control channel, a reverse pilot channel generator for generating a pilot signal by adding a power control signal to the pilot signal, a reverse fundamental channel generator for generating a voice signal, and a reverse supplemental channel generator for generating packet data.

The present invention relates to a composition for manufacturing an orally disintegrating dosage form that is used to prevent a coating layer of an active substance which is formed in a predetermined size in order to mask a bitter taste or an unpleasant taste. A predetermined ratio of an excipient having lower hardness than the coated active substance and another excipient having higher hardness and larger particle size than the active substance are used as means for protecting the coating layer from being destroyed.

A method is provided for forming a metal semiconductor alloy that includes providing a deposition apparatus that includes a platinum source and a nickel source, wherein the platinum source is separate from the nickel source; positioning a substrate having a semiconductor surface in the deposition apparatus; forming a metal alloy on the semiconductor surface, wherein forming the metal alloy comprises a deposition stage in which the platinum source deposits platinum to the semiconductor surface at an initial rate at an initial period that is greater than a final rate at a final period of the deposition stage, and the nickel source deposits nickel to the semiconductor surface; and annealing the metal alloy to react the nickel and platinum with the semiconductor substrate to provide a nickel platinum semiconductor alloy.

Methods of forming integrated circuit devices include forming an electrically insulating layer having a contact hole therein, on a substrate, and then depositing an electrically insulating liner onto a sidewall of the contact hole using an atomic layer deposition (ALD) technique. This electrically insulating liner, which may include gelatinous silica or silicon dioxide, for example, may be deposited to a thickness in a range from 40 Å to 100 Å. A portion of the electrically insulating liner is then removed from a bottom of the contact hole and a barrier metal layer is then formed on the electrically insulating liner and on a bottom of the contact hole. The step of forming the barrier metal layer may be followed by filling the contact hole with a metal interconnect.
