The present invention relates to a method and system for management of the mobility of a terminal by using a non-access stratum (network stratum “NAS”) protocol in a mobile telecommunication network. The method for management of the mobility of a terminal by using an NAS protocol, i.e., messages includes a terminal (“UE”) and a mobile management entity (“MME”), and efficiently divides and processes security protected NAS messages and NAS messages with no security, and efficiently divides and processes EMM (EPS Mobility Management) messages, i.e., mobility management messages, and ESM (Evolved Session Management) messages, i.e., session management messages in a network such as an EPS (Evolved Packet System) of 3GPP, thereby managing the mobility and the sessions of a terminal in an efficient manner.

An apparatus and a method for transmitting/receiving a packet in a dual modem mobile communication terminal support data communication using both a host modem and a slave modem by additionally driving the slave modem when packet traffic is heavy. In the method for transmitting/receiving, at a host modem, a packet in a mobile communication terminal that includes the host modem and a slave modem, when a packet is received under a state where only the host modem is driven, it is determined whether a buffer count of the host modem is greater than a reference value. When the buffer count of the host modem is greater than the reference value, the slave modem is additionally driven and the received packet is provided to the slave modem.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method is provided for transmitting a signal in a communication system. Upon transition to a power saving mode, a lower layer unit sends a notification indicating the transition to the power saving mode to an upper layer unit. Upon receipt of the notification indicating the transition, the upper layer unit activates a traffic filter having a filtering condition. If upper layer traffic is generated after activating the traffic filter, the upper layer unit filters the upper layer traffic using the traffic filter, and processes the upper layer traffic according to the filtering result.

It further is directed to a precursor arrangement for manufacturing single-walled carbon nanotubes comprising on a substrate at least one pillar comprising alternate layers of a first precursor material comprising fullerene molecules and a second precursor material comprising a catalyst. A third aspect is a nanotube arrangement comprising a substrate and thereupon at least one crystal comprising a bundle of single-walled carbon nanotubes with essentially identical orientation and structure.

A complex terminal includes an apparatus for controlling a Universal IC Card (UICC). The apparatus is configured to obtain a control information through a UICC initialization and provide a corresponding communication modem with the control information. A communication modem can request a communication authority based on the control information and obtain the communication authority from a controller. A selector can connect the corresponding communication modem to the UICC while the controller provides the corresponding communication modem with the communication authority.

A method and apparatus is provided for transmitting data in a broadband wireless access communication system. If transmission data is generated, a data packet generator sets information corresponding to a service type of the generated data in a predetermined field of the generated data. A data packet parser parses the set information, and quality-of-service determiner determines a quality-of-service of the data set in the predetermined field according to the parsing result. A data mapper maps the data to transmission traffic according to the determined quality-of-service before transmission.
