Abstract:
A live bait dispenser allows for easy hooking of fish bait without requiring the user to contact the bait. The apparatus includes a storage region, for containing the bait, and a dispensing region, in fluid communication with the storage region, for the bait to position for easy hooking and dispensing. The storage region may be in various shapes and sizes and may include removable or hinged lids to enclose an open top of the storage region. The dispensing region can include a plurality of axial slots that meet with a longitudinal slot to permit hooking and removal of the bait. In some embodiments, a hinged end can be provided to permit the hooked bait, when it is too large to be removed through the longitudinal slot, to be removed from the dispensing region after being hooked.
Abstract:
A bait scoop allows an angler to retrieve live bait, hook the live bait while still in the bait scoop, and easily remove the hooked bait from the bait scoop. The bait scoop includes a scoop and a handle extending from a back of the scoop member. A plurality of front slots are formed in the scoop, where the slots are open at a top part of the scoop. The slots continuously extend from the top of the scoop, around the bottom, and partially up the back of the scoop to attached to a solid back portion thereof. Side slots are formed in sides of the scoop, where the side slots are open at the top of the scoop. Slotted cones are formed at a trench on a bottom interior of the scoop, where the slot in the scoop extends from the side slot to the interior of the scoop.
Abstract:
A temporary checking device is provided that works in conjunction with elements of a vehicle hinge that remain in the vehicle's final configuration. The hinge includes a hinge pin rotatably connecting a door hinge bracket to a pillar hinge bracket. The checking device includes a spring portion that is disposed between the door hinge bracket and the pillar hinge bracket. The spring portion is compressed during movement of the door hinge bracket relative to the pillar hinge bracket from either of two rest positions. The spring portion urges the vehicle door affixed thereto back into one of the rest positions, thus allowing manufacturing operations such as painting, etc., to be performed on the vehicle.
Abstract:
This invention pertains to certain active carbamic acid compounds which inhibit HDAC activity and which have the formula (1) wherein: A is an aryl group; Q1 is an aryl leader group having a backbone of at least 2 carbon atoms; J is an amide linkage selected from: —NR1C(═O)— and —C(═O)NR1-; R1 is an amido substituent; and, Q2 is an acid leader group; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates, amides, esters, ethers, chemically protected forms, and prodrugs thereof. The present invention also pertains to pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds, and the use of such compounds and compositions, both in vitro and in vivo, to inhibit HDAC, and, e.g., to inhibit proliferative conditions, such as cancer and psoriasis.
Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a method for treating cancer, such as lung cancer, multiple myeloma, lymphoma, and epithelial ovarian cancer, comprising the administration to a patient in need thereof a first amount or dose of a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor, such as PXD-101, and a second amount or dose of another chemotherapeutic agent, such as dexamethasone or 5-fluorouracil, or an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor, such as TarcevaÚ, wherein the first and second amounts or doses together comprise a therapeutically effective amount.
Abstract:
A turbomachine (1), in particular a turbine or compressor, includes a rotor (2) which has at least one moving blade row (4) with a plurality of moving blades (5), and a stator (3) which has at least one guide vane row (6) with a plurality of guide vanes (7), at least in one of the blade or vane rows (4, 6) all the blades or vanes (5, 7) each having a shroud plate (10). In order to simplify the maintenance of the turbo-machine (1), the shroud plates (10) are separate components with respect to the respective blade or vane (5, 7) and are mounted on the respective blade or vane (5, 7), shroud plates (10) adjacent in the circumferential direction (9) being coupled to one another for the transmission of tensile forces in the circumferential direction (9).
Abstract:
A gastric band positioning tubular apparatus including an extended tube (4) having a series of lumens (11, 12) therein; an asymmetrically inflating balloon (3) located substantially at a distal end of the extended tube and interconnected with one of said series of lumens for the application of a positive air pressure thereto for asymmetric inflation of said balloon.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an analytical technique for the quantitative determination of an analyte and a reagent solution useful in said quantitative determination. The analytical technique is conveniently adapted for quantitative determination of carbonyl and even more particularly adapted for finishing an alcohol produced in the Oxo Process.
Abstract:
The Oxo Process that recycles its cobalt primarily as cobalt salt is improved by concentration of the cobalt salt solution from the demetalling section and the addition of a separation step for organic acid and water. This allows for a higher reuse of acid in the process and thus a lower amount of acid in the waste water. Injecting a higher concentration of cobalt salt solution to the reaction section also reduces the requirement for cobalt source.
