    摘要: A wire harness including a number of wires, an outer sheath layer, and an anisotropic fabric positioned between the wires and outer sheath is provided. The anisotropic fabric is formed from combining a number of more rigid, monofilament fill strands and a number of less rigid multifilament warp strands. The fill strands may be formed from a single filament of at least five hundred fifty (550) denier while the warp strands may be formed from a series of polyester threads of at least two hundred (200) denier. The anisotropic layer permits limited rotation of the inner wires relative to the outer sheath when exposed to friction and pressure and is not subjected to significant creep during use.

    摘要: A modular composite utility pole has a plurality of sections, each with a tapered hollow tube having a plurality of plies, wherein a first end has a larger diameter than a second end, wherein each section is adapted to join at least one adjoining section at a joint wherein the first end of an upper section overlaps the second end of a lower section, the lower section having a ledge proximate to the second end of the lower section, with a fastener passing through the joint via apertures in the sections, and wherein, when the modular composite utility pole is erected, the joint is self-located by the joint features, and wherein substantially all vertical load is transferred between sections via the a surface of the second end of the upper section resting upon the ledge of the lower section. Also disclosed are individual sections and methods of making them.

    摘要: A rubber molded product such as a brake cylinder diaphragm with a balanced elongation substrate reinforcement in both the warp and fill directions incorporated therein is provided. The fabric substrate reinforcement is woven without size and overfed after the weaving process leading to balanced crimp and elongation in the length and width directions. The fabric member is also woven with a reduced number of weft threads to start, but which are added back by overfeeding to further render the fabric elongation more isotropic in at least the warp and fill directions. The reinforcement substrate is placed in the mold along with the molding material and formed into the desired shape to assist in shape retention and overall structural stability. A method of forming a molded product including a balanced crimp reinforcement substrate is also provided.
