摘要: The present invention relates to a shaft for a catheter which may be usable having a tubular core which may be usable with a minimally invasive procedure such as intravascular medical treatment system. It also relates to a method of fabricating such shaft. The shaft has a longitudinal axis defining a radial distance, and a cross section having a polar axis defining an angular position, wherein the shaft comprises a tubular core which has an inner perimeter and an outer perimeter, and an outer layer for improving mechanical properties, which encloses the tubular core such that the outer perimeter of the core and the outer layer face each other, wherein the radial distance between the outer perimeter and the inner perimeter differs at different polar angular positions, forming zones of different stiffness at different angular positions, wherein different planes of the shaft oriented along the longitudinal axis and cutting the cross section at different polar angular positions have different flexural properties which are determined by the stiffness of the zones.

摘要: A catheter assembly includes an outer shaft having an outer shaft body forming an outer shaft bore that receives an inner shaft. The outer shaft has a wire transition section. The catheter assembly includes an exit path connector coupled to the outer shaft body at the wire transition section. The exit path connector has a rigid body section separate and discrete from the outer shaft body and coupled to the outer shaft body. The body section defines an exit path connector bore that receives the inner shaft. The body section has a side exit port at a side of the body section being open to the exit path connector bore. The catheter assembly includes a catheter wire passing through the side exit port from an interior to an exterior of the cable exit port.

摘要: A blister actuator assembly for actuating a blister assembly of a diagnostic cartridge assembly and dispensing fluid from the blister assembly is provided. The blister actuator assembly includes an articulated actuator having a drive body and a plurality of driven links. The drive body is configured to translate generally along a first axis from a non-deployed position to a deployed position upon being acted on by an actuation force directed generally along the first axis. The driven links extend in inclined relation from the drive body, with the driven links being configured to pivot relative to the drive body into forcible engagement with the blister assembly to dispense fluid from the blister assembly in response to the drive body translating along the first axis.

摘要: A tube or skeleton for a steerable catheter includes a cylindrical body structured to permit bending in at least one bending direction and to resist bending in directions transverse to the bending direction. The cylindrical body may include a laser cut metal tube, wires bent and connected to one another, or one or more coiled wires with axial support wires attached to the coil to define one or more bending directions to form bending segments. The skeleton includes axially stiff portions that resist compression when a pull wire is pulled to cause bending movement. The axially stiff portions may include a backbone, an alignment of pivot structures, connected axially extending portions of wire elements, or axially extending support wires or rods. Two or more bending portions may be provided, each with different bending directions. Complex bending shapes may be provided by arranging the segments in rotated positions along the skeleton.

摘要: An expandable introducer sheath for use in interventional procedures. The expandable introducer sheath can be inserted into a treatment vessel in a first unexpanded configuration. The expandable introducer sheath can expand in diameter during insertion of a device through its main lumen and can then re-collapse down to its unexpanded diameter. The device comprises an inner heat-set folded layer and an outer elastomeric layer. The outer elastomeric layer provides a barrier between the inner folded layer and a vessel wall during unfolding of the inner folded layer to minimize the risk of vessel trauma.

摘要: A handle assembly for a structural heart catheter based delivery system comprises an actuation mechanism connectable to a delivery member and adapted to move the delivery member along a longitudinal axis, a wheel element, and a force limiting coupling unit attaching the wheel element to the actuation mechanism. The force limiting coupling unit disengages the wheel element from the actuation mechanism if a mechanical force applied to the wheel element exceeds a threshold value.

摘要: A medical device handle for articulation of a catheter includes a housing having a cylindrical shape, a control element at least partly encompassed by the housing, the control element having a pair of cross-cut threads cross-cut in opposing directions around a longitudinal axis of the medical device handle, and a pair of pull wire mounting elements each having a mounting thread engaging with one of the cross-cut threads. The control element is mechanically coupled to each of the pull wire mounting elements via the cross-cut threads and the mounting threads without any additional gear in between. A rotation of the control element around the longitudinal axis moves the pull wire mounting elements in opposite linear directions along the longitudinal axis.
