    Abstract: A diffuser is provided with three discharges. Two of the discharges are directed in one direction and, when installed, would be directed towards the outside wall of the conditioned space. The other discharge is directed in the opposite direction and would discharge into the interior of the conditioned space. Responsive to the temperature of the conditioned air being supplied, a thermally responsive actuator is in either one of two positions whereby either one of the two discharges in the one direction or the discharge in the opposite direction is blocked. This results in two discharges in one direction or one in each direction with the discharge area being the same in both instances.

The assemblies further include inner walls spaced from a centrally located vertically extending wall to define third and fourth air passages.     Abstract: An air conditioning system having conditioned air supplied through at least one duct includes a damper blade assembly for varying the volume of conditioned air flow through said duct. A first inflatable bellows is connected to the damper blade assembly to vary the position thereof in said duct. The bellows is inflated in response to changes in the supply pressure of the conditioned air to maintain a substantially constant volume conditioned air flow downstream of said damper blade assembly. A second inflatable bellows is connected to the damper blade assembly for further varying the position thereof in the duct. The second inflatable bellows is inflated in response to the temperature of the air in the enclosure whereby the quantity of air discharged thereinto is reduced as the temperature of the enclosure approaches a predetermined level.

    Abstract: A bellows assembly is secured to a retainer by extrusions having a mushroom or arrow shaped cross section. Air flowing through the terminal impinges upon an impervious film covering the central portion of the device and is diverted into two flow paths. Initially the flow paths extend between the film and the cutoff plates which coact to form a tight shut off. Downstream of the cutoff plates, the flow paths are between a porous foam covering the bellows and foam surrounding the cutoff plates to provide a sound reducing effect. If necessary or desirable, the back of the retainer may be covered with foam or other suitable sound insulating material.

    Abstract: In an air terminal having an inflatable bellows expanding toward a pair of spaced cut-off plates, a sealing element is attached to the central portion of that side of the bellows adjacent to the cut-off plates. The transversely extending ends of the sealing element are not secured to the bellows but are free to separate therefrom as the bellows is expanded to thereby more easily engage the cut-off plates. A pair of foam strips are provided near the transverse ends of the sealing element so as to thereby provide a substantially normally extending surface against which the flowing air will impinge so as to thereby reduce the sound emanating therefrom. A pair of vibration damper clips extend from the cut-off plates and engage the foam strips to prevent any vibration thereof.
