Abstract: Architectures and techniques are presented that can facilitate improved design and function of certain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) devices. Architectures directed to an improved evase device can be designed with rounded corners that can facilitate, e.g., mitigation of reverse flow that traditionally grows back from corners of a transition from an axial fan to a rectangular duct. Architectures directed to an improved intake device can be designed to limit intake from certain flow directions and to smoothly change flow direction, which can facilitate, e.g., reduction in noise. Architectures directed to an improved fan intake device can be designed to reduce noise without significantly reducing total pressure. Architectures directed to an improved air handler device can be designed to concurrently heat and cool air and to reduce dimensions (e.g., size, weight) that can reduce costs and mitigate shipping and installation difficulties.

Abstract: A rodent protection insert for a structure opening including a flexible polymer foam sheet having a protective mesh sheet carried on a front side which moves independently of the foam sheet. A securing member maintains a mechanical connection between the flexible polymer foam sheet and the mesh sheet. An airflow port is disposed in the flexible polymer foam sheet that includes a removable plug for controlling airflow through the airflow port. A perimeter edge of the flexible polymer foam sheet compresses against and conforms to interior wall surfaces within a structure opening when mounted to form an airtight seal against the interior wall surfaces and hold the foam sheet in place. The protective mesh sheet engages the interior wall surfaces when the flexible polymer foam sheet is compressed in the structure opening so that the protective mesh sheet stabilizes and supports the flexible polymer foam sheet within the structure opening.

Abstract: An air conditioner may provide a fan housing assembly that moves in the front-rear direction by the operation of an actuator, and the fan housing assembly moves so as to pass through a front outlet arranged on a door assembly to be in a projected state, and the front end of the fan housing assembly protrudes further to the front than the front surface of the door assembly; and through the projected state, may provide conditioned air by a direct air flow to a long-distance target region. The configuration may enable the minimization of interference between the discharged air and the door assembly, and the minimization of flow loss of the discharged air since, when the fan housing assembly is in the projected state, a steering grill is in a state of protruding to the outside of the door assembly by passing through the front outlet.

When decontaminating an inside of the work room, the decontamination agent discharging device is operated to discharge the decontamination agent to the inside of the work room, and the decontamination agent transfer device is operated to suction, discharge, or circulate the decontamination agent between the work room and the air supply space. Consequently, both the air supply space and the work room are decontaminated.

Abstract: An air redirect apparatus includes a duct configured to fit into a register access cavity. The duct includes an entrance aperture and exit aperture. The entrance aperture is sized to connect to a duct opening of ductwork which routes forced air into the register access cavity. A cover plate is connected to the entrance aperture through which the entrance aperture penetrates. The cover plate operable to cover the duct opening when the entrance aperture is connected to the duct opening. The cover plate has an adjustable length that is operable to be adjusted between a minimum length and a maximum length. The cover plate includes a first plate and a second plate. The second plate includes a cutout section configured to straddle an outer perimeter of the entrance aperture. The second plate is operable to slide longitudinally relative to the first plate to adjust the length of the cover plate.
