Abstract: A cooling structure includes: a heat sink to be mounted to a heat generator; and a duct, which is mounted to the heat sink, and is configured to guide an air flow flowing around the heat sink to the heat sink, wherein the heat sink has an air flow passage configured to allow the air flow to pass through the air flow passage, wherein one end side of the duct is to be mounted to an upstream side of the air flow passage, and wherein another end side of the duct is to be extended from an upstream end portion of the air flow passage to an upstream side of the air flow.

Abstract: An outdoor unit for an air-conditioning apparatus includes a housing; a compressor provided in the housing and configured to compress refrigerant; an outdoor heat exchanger provided in the housing and allowing refrigerant and air to exchange heat with each other; a partition plate provided in the housing and partitioning an inside of the housing into a fan chamber and a machine chamber in which the compressor is provided; an electronic component provided in the machine chamber; a refrigerant pipe provided in the machine chamber and connecting the compressor and the outdoor heat exchanger and disposed above the electronic component; a valve connected to the refrigerant pipe in the machine chamber and disposed above the electronic component; and a drip inhibiting portion that covers the refrigerant pipe and a lower part of the valve and inhibits water dripping from the refrigerant pipe from dripping onto the electronic component.

Abstract: An outdoor unit for an air-conditioning apparatus includes: a casing having an opening portion of an air passage formed in a front panel; and a fan guard, which includes a plurality of vertical rails and a plurality of horizontal rails that are combined with each other, and is configured to cover the opening portion. The fan guard includes: an upper locking portion formed on an upper end portion of a vertical rail and lower locking portions formed on lower end portions of the vertical rails. The upper locking portion is formed by bending the upper end portion toward the casing side so as to be inclined downward. The lower locking portions are formed by bending toward the casing so that the distal ends are directed downward. The front panel has: upper and lower temporary fixing holes configured to receive the upper and lower locking portions to be inserted thereinto.

Abstract: An outdoor unit for an air-conditioning apparatus includes a casing having an air inlet through which air enters the casing, an air-sending device disposed in the casing and configured to create a flow of air passing through the air inlet, a heat exchanger disposed between the casing and the air-sending device and exposed through the air inlet and including a plurality of fins spaced apart from each other, and a partition disposed in the casing and dividing a space in the casing into an air-sending device chamber containing the heat exchanger and the air-sending device and a machine chamber containing a compressor. The plurality of fins include an end fin group located at an end remote from the partition. The casing includes a wall having at least one vent that faces the end fin group and that is located along a side edge part defining an edge of the air inlet.

Abstract: An outdoor unit for an air-conditioning apparatus has a fan guard covering an air outlet provided in a front panel. The air outlet is opened in a circular shape. The fan guard has a spiral wire formed in a spiral shape and having a hole in a center portion of the spiral wire, a center cap covering the hole, and an outer frame wire that is formed in an annular shape to surround an outer circumference of the spiral wire and in which one end portion and the other end portion at both ends of the annular shape are displaced from each other in a radial direction of the spiral wire and joined to each other at a position of an outer circumferential end portion of the spiral wire.

Abstract: A fan motor support includes a rightward-and-leftward direction guide piece which projects in a direction of approaching a fan motor from a lower intermediate transverse plate or an upper intermediate transverse plate extending across a pair of support columns in a rightward-and-leftward direction at a position above or below the fan motor in a vertical direction at a distance apart from the fan motor. The rightward-and leftward direction guide piece is formed to be opened in a direction opposite to a machine chamber in a rightward-and-leftward direction and recessed toward the machine chamber. A rightward-and-leftward direction guide groove which is configured to change a wiring path of the lead wire of the fan motor hooked thereto to a direction toward the machine chamber from the upward-and-downward direction.
