A method for producing a molded silicone rubber product comprising (i) forming a mixture comprising (A) a primary composition in the form of a paste comprising an inorganic filler and a diorganopolysiloxane containing at least 2 silicon atom-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule, (B) a liquid catalyst composition comprising a platinum catalyst and an organopolysiloxane containing at least 2 silicon atom-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule, and (C) a liquid curing composition comprising an organopolysiloxane having at least 2 silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule and an organopolysiloxane having at least 2 silicon atom-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule; (ii) feeding the mixture comprising components (A), (B), and (C) into a molding device; and (iii) curing the mixture comprising components (A), (B), and (C) by heating.

A curable liquid silicone rubber composition for use in high-voltage electrical insulating parts, which consists of (A) a polyorganosiloxane containing alkenyl groups, (B) fumed silica, (C) a polyorganohydriodosiloxane, (D) a platinum catalyst, (E) finely powdered aluminum hydroxide, and (F) 1 to 150 parts by weight of a finely powdered metal compound selected from the group consisting of finely powdered carbonate or finely powdered hydrogen salt of a metal selected from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 7th, or 9th group of the periodic table.

A liquid silicone rubber composition for a lubricant seal having after it is cured high resistance to lubricant, with high stability displayed even in lubricant that has been subjected to thermal and oxidative degradation, and having its rubber elasticity well maintained. The liquid silicone rubber composition for a lubricant seal comprises the following ingredients: (A) an organopolysiloxane containing 2 or more silicon-atom-bonded alkenyl groups in each molecule; (B) an inorganic filler; (C) an oxide or hydroxide of an alkaline-earth metal with an atomic weight of 40 or greater; (D) an organohydrogensiloxane containing 3 or more silicon-atom-bonded hydrogen atoms in each molecule; and (E) a platinum-type catalyst.

A manufacturing method for making a composite comprising silicone rubber and a thermoplastic resin in high precision and in high productivity. In the method, a thermoplastic resin is injected into the cavity of a mold. Then, a liquid silicone rubber composition which comprises (A) organopolysiloxane, (B) spherical fine particle catalyst consisting of platinum base catalyst-containing thermoplastic resin, (C) organohydrogenpolysiloxane, and (D) hydrosilylation reaction inhibiting compound, is injected into the same mold and cured.

The introduction of a foamable silicone rubber composition that evolves neither toxic gas nor hydrogen, that does not suffer from inhibition of its cure to give silicone rubber, and that cures to give a silicone rubber foam containing uniform microcells. The foamable silicone rubber composition comprises:(A) 100 weight parts thermosetting liquid silicone rubber composition, and(B) 0.1 to 30 weight parts thermally expansible hollow plastic microparticles.

A silicone rubber sponge composition, a silicone rubber sponge, and a process for making a silicone rubber sponge. The silicone rubber sponge composition comprises (A) 100 parts by weight of an organopolysiloxane gum described by average structural unit RaSiO(4−a)/2, where R is a monovalent hydrocarbon radical or haloalkyl and a is 1.95 to 2.05, (B) 1 to 400 parts by weight of an inorganic filler, (C) 0.01 to 50 parts by weight hollow thermoplastic resin particles (D) a mixture of (a) water-soluble silicone and (b) water in an amount such that the water in the mixture is equivalent to 0.01 to 10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of component (A), and (E) a curing agent in an amount sufficient to cure the composition.

A high voltage electrical insulator formed from a curable liquid silicone rubber composition, and subsequently cured, a composition consisting essentially of(A) 100 weight parts of a fluid mixture of polyorganosiloxane comprising(a) at least 5 weight percent of a polyorganosiloxane resin comprising repeating units selected from the group consisting of SiO.sub.4/2 and RSiO.sub.3/2, where R is a monovalent hydrocarbon group, and(b) polydiorganosiloxane having a viscosity in the range from about 100 mPa.multidot.s to 100,000 mPa.multidot.s, that contains at least 2 silicon-bonded alkenyl groups in each molecule,(B) 1 to 100 weight parts microparticulate silica,(C) polyorganohydrogensiloxane that contains at least 2 silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms in each molecule, in a quantity that provides a value from 0.5:1 to 20:1 for the ratio of the number of moles of silicon-bonded hydrogen in the instant composition to the number of moles of silicon-bonded alkenyl in component (A), and(D) a catalytic quantity of a platinum catalyst.The liquid silicone rubber composition, prior to its cure, evidences a desirable fluidity and excellent moldability. Upon its cure the composition produces very mechanically strong silicone rubber moldings that have excellent high-voltage insulating properties tracking resistance, erosion resistance, arcing resistance without the use of fillers such as aluminum oxide, aluminum hydroxide or quartz.

A novel primer composition, which is especially adapted for promoting the adhesion of thermosetting rubbers to substrates having exceptionally inert surfaces, such a nickel, stainless steel and organic resins is disclosed. The composition comprises: (A) 100 parts, by weight, of an organosilicon compound selected from the group consisting of (1) alkenyltrialkoxysilane and (2) mild hydrolyzates of (1); (B) 0.01-200 parts, by weight, of a platinum compound; (C) 0.1-100 parts by weight of an organic titanic acid ester; and optionally (D) a solvent.
