Abstract:
The present invention relates to a nozzle unit for the supply of gas into a liquid comprising two or more annular nozzles one after the other in the direction of flow. The nozzles are angled to give a restriction in the direction of flow, and each nozzle overlaps the following nozzle. Each nozzle has one or more apertures for the supply of gas at the overlap.
Abstract:
A system for effecting communication between first and second radio transceivers, comprises a communicator for effecting communication between the first and second radio transceivers over a first channel; a determiner for determining the distance between the transceivers, and for determining if the distance falls below a predetermined threshold; and a channel charger responsive to a positive determination, for effecting direct mode communication between the transceivers over a second channel.
Abstract:
Provided is a product including a group of a plurality of wires, in which longitudinal directions of the wires are arranged in one direction, and a method of producing the same. The longitudinal directions of a plurality of wires each covered with a polymer are arranged in one direction in a solvent, and the plurality of the wires whose longitudinal directions are arranged in one direction is fixed by using the polymer.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to novel organometallic complexes as catalysts for the reaction of compounds with isocyanate and hydroxyl functional groups to form urethane and/or polyurethane and the process employing such catalysts. More particularly, the present invention is directed to novel complexes of zinc(II) with substituted amidines. These novel catalysts are useful for the production of urethanes and polyurethanes which are important in many industrial applications.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of analyzing an interference fringe, with which method the optical characteristics of an optical system to be examined can be analyzed very precisely. In one preferred form of the invention, the analyzing method includes a step of detecting information related to a first interference fringe produced by interference of two light fluxes, a step of detecting information related to a second interference fringe produced while changing a phase of one of the two light fluxes by π as multiplied by an odd number (e.g., 1π, 3π, . . . ), and a step of detecting averaged information of phase information of the two interference fringes, on the basis of the detected information of the first and second interference fringes and by use of Fourier transform.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a cooling element (1) to be used in the structure of a furnace used in metal processes, such as a flash smelting furnace, a blast furnace, an electric furnace or other metallurgical reactor, the cooling element having a copper housing (2) made of one single piece, in which housing there is formed a channel system (3) for the circulation of the cooling medium, lining elements (4) made of fireproof material, the housing and lining element including means for connecting them together, and the lining element (4) and the housing (2) are connected so that the lining element (4) can move in the vertical direction with respect to the housing (2). Also disclosed is a cooling element.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for guiding a dispersion of two liquids formed in the mixing stage of liquid-liquid extraction along the longitudinal axis of the separation section in the feed end of an extraction separation section. In particular the method and equipment relate to the extraction process used in the recovery of metals. In accordance with the method the dispersion to be fed into the separation section is guided so that it spreads evenly over the cross-section of the separation section using a directional member placed so as to obtain a vertical flow. The equipment in accordance with the invention consists of a directional member, which is in turn made up of at least two separate parts.
Abstract:
A vibration compensation apparatus comprises: an angular velocity detector that detects a plurality of angular velocities in two orthogonal detection axes directions and outputs corresponding angular velocity signals; a compensation unit that compensates vibration in a plurality of compensation axis directions; and a conversion unit that converts the plurality of angular velocity signals obtained by the angular velocity detector or a plurality of vibration compensation signals based on the plurality of angular velocity signals into vibration compensation signals expressed in the coordinates of the compensation axes of the compensation unit. The compensation unit compensates the vibration based on the vibration correction signals converted by the conversion unit.
Abstract:
A collapsible-type lens barrel includes an image blurring correction unit that drives a first lens in a plane orthogonal to an optical axis so as to cancel shaking of an image sensing apparatus, and a second lens placed adjacent the image blurring correction unit. When the collapsible-type lens barrel is in the collapsed state, the image blurring correction unit causes the first lens to withdraw to a position away from the optical axis of the second lens, and causes the second lens to retract in such a manner that a portion of the second lens enters at least part of a space on the optical axis produced by the withdrawal of the first lens.
Abstract:
An area having a diameter in which a peripheral area of an eye fundus image is covered with a mask is displayed on a monitor. When a region which may be abnormal is found in the vicinity of a boundary between the mask and the eye fundus image during image viewing, the display area enlarging means is operated. Then, an aperture area of the mask is enlarged to expand a display area of the eye fundus image, so the eye fundus image including some flare is displayed on a wide area. Therefore, an abnormal state of the region can be recognized.
