Abstract:
The invention relates to novel silane-modified formamides and/or pre-polymers for bonding and/or sealing diverse substrate materials, such as, for example metal, wood, glass and/or plastic, The invention also relates to a reactive single-component adhesive system comprising the claimed silane-modified formamide and/or pre-polymers.
Abstract:
Provided is a resin composition for surface treatment of a steel sheet including a binder resin, graphene and a solvent. More particularly, as only a small amount of the graphene is included in the resin composition used for surface treatment of a steel sheet, a user-required electrical conductivity can be provided to the steel sheet.
Abstract:
Protein-polymer composite materials are provided according to embodiments of the present invention that include an admixture of a polymer resin, a surfactant and a non-aqueous organic solvent. An aqueous solution containing bioactive proteins is mixed with the admixture. The emulsion is mixed with a crosslinker to produce a curable composition. The curable composition is cured, thereby producing the protein-polymer composite material that is useful for facilitating removal of bioorganic stains.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to moisture-curable silane-reactive hot melt compositions having an acrylate-urethane copolymer moiety. Desirably, the silane groups contain alkoxy functionality to enable and enhance moisture curing. Such compositions provide enhanced green strength without sacrificing other desirable properties.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pressure sensitive adhesive sheet including a pressure sensitive adhesive layer on at least one surface of a base material, wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive layer is made of a two-layer structure of a first pressure sensitive adhesive layer and a second pressure sensitive adhesive layer in this order from the side of the base material; a first pressure sensitive adhesive constituting the first pressure sensitive adhesive layer has a loss tangent (tan δ) value at 0° C. of 0.25 or more and a storage elastic modulus value at 0° C. of from 0.01 to 0.80 MPa; and a resin component contained in a second pressure sensitive adhesive constituting the second pressure sensitive adhesive layer contains from 10 to 100 t by mass of an acrylic copolymer having a crosslinkable functional group. The pressure sensitive adhesive sheet according to the present invention exhibits an excellent adhesive strength even when the pressure sensitive adhesive layer is reduced in thickness.
Abstract:
A zwitterionic/amphiphilic pentablock copolymer was prepared using atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). The pentablock copolymer is prepared for the atom transfer radical polymerization of a PDMS-PEO-Br macroinitiator and SBMA. The pentablock copolymer is incorporated into a polyurethane coating composition which is useful for antifouling and/or fouling release applications.
Abstract:
An aqueous coating material is provided. The aqueous coating material includes an aqueous acrylic resin having OH group, an aqueous hardener agent having NCO group, a color paste, a functional auxiliary agent, a film-formation auxiliary agent, and a diluent. A percent by weight of the aqueous acrylic resin having the OH group is 40-65 wt %. A percent by weight of the aqueous hardener agent having the NCO group is 10-18 wt %. A percent by weight of the color paste is 6-15 wt %. A percent by weight of the functional auxiliary agent is 0.5-3 wt %. A percent by weight of the film-formation auxiliary agent is 8-20 wt %. A percent by weight of the diluent is 10.5-35 wt %. An equivalent ratio of the NCO group to the OH group ranges from 0.95 to 1.6.
Abstract:
The present system is a waterborne coating system comprising a two-part aqueous polyurethane coating which provides for building solvent based equivalent film thickness without foaming or gassing while retaining properties of little or no volatile organic compound (VOC) or hazardous air pollutant (HAPs) emission. A blend of various acrylic copolomers neutralized in water based emulsion and combined with an emulsified polyester polyol provides the resin system allowing adhesion to a various number of substrates. In at least one embodiment, the acrylic polyol is an acrylic copolymer having the hydrophilizing groups and isocyanate-reactive functionality incorporated into the polymer via appropriate monomer selection or subsequent modification.
Abstract:
There is provided herein a water-based two-component polyurethane dispersion prepared from combining (a) an aqueous polymer emulsion comprising one or more emulsifiable polymers and one or more polyols, wherein the aqueous polymer emulsion has a Tg lower than about 20 degree C. and (b) one or more isocyanates.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to novel organometallic complexes as catalysts for the reaction of compounds with isocyanate and hydroxyl functional groups to form urethane and/or polyurethane and the process employing such catalysts. More particularly, the present invention is directed to novel complexes of zinc(II) with substituted amidines. These novel catalysts are useful for the production of urethanes and polyurethanes which are important in many industrial applications.
