    摘要: A DC circuit breaking spark suppressor device includes first and second main switch components having sequentially linked contacts for connecting a DC power supply to a main load, and a capacitor connected in parallel with the first switch component to store electricity when the first main switch component is opened, the second switch component being opened after opening of the first main switch component to disconnect the load from the power supply, after which the capacitor discharges through a discharge resistor. The discharge circuit includes a switch apart from said main switch components to isolate the discharge circuit prior to discharge, and an additional damping inductor. Alternatively, isolation of the discharge circuit may be achieved adding a contact to the second main switch component such that when the load is disconnected from the power supply, the discharge circuit is closed to cause the capacitor to discharge through the discharge resistor.

    摘要: The series field winding of a compound or series motor includes a plurality of taps and, connected in parallel therewith, a transient storage element such as a capacitor, and a flywheel diode. The taps are controlled by switches in the form of transistors or thyristors which are turned on and off by a central control unit in response to setting of the speed and, optionally, various feedback devices such as a motor speed detector, an armature EMF detector, or a load current detector. The transient storage device replaces conventional linear impedance or linear power elements in order to prevent loss of power as the armature voltage is increased.

    摘要: A mechanical transmission (10) includes a first gear (13), a second gear (15), a slip clutch (14), an input shaft (11), a fourth gear (20), a one-way bearing (21), a third gear (18) and an output shaft (12). The first gear (13) and the slip clutch (14) are mounted on the input shaft (11). The first gear (13) is meshed with the second gear (15) which is mounted on the output shaft (12). The one-way bearing (21) and the fourth gear (20) are mounted on the output shaft (12); the latter (20) is meshed with the third gear (18) which is mounted on the input shaft (11) to constitute a step-down gearing (22). When the load upon the output shaft (12) increases so that the torque imposed upon the slip clutch (14) is higher than predetermined, the slip clutch (14) releases, and the increased torque generated by the step-down gear set (18, 20) drives the increased load upon the output shaft (12). Two additional embodiments (10', 10") are disclosed.

The system includes a primary power source that includes an output shaft connected to a magnetic coupling and driving device. A magnetic coupling driving device can be driven by the output shaft of the engine so as to act as an alternator for charging a battery unit of the vehicle, can function as a motor to drive the vehicle while receiving power from the battery unit and can drive the vehicle in unison with the engine such that a compound power system is provided. The magnetic coupling and driving device can also function to develop a load on the engine in order to act as a vehicle brake.
