    摘要： This is a PCBA that can be used in any system where one component or package is connected to another component or package. This invention provides a very short connector or signal path that avoids the necessity of a signal trace termination in the PCB. The PCB has on its upper surface a first component or package and on its lower surface a second component or package in vertical physical and signal alignment with the first component or package. The first component or package has a BGA on its bottom surface and the second component has a BGA on its top surface, both of these BGAs are in electrical contact with each other. Because of the short signal trace provided, the PCB provides signal transitions as fast as 200 pS.

    摘要： A process that provides a status report following a request for the destruction of data files a user wishes to completely erase from a storage medium, such as a hard drive or removable disk. A system administrator can select a quantity of and pattern to be used in overwrites of the data file so that no one can recover the data from the storage medium. In embodiments, a graphical user interface (GUI) can be provided to allow user triggering of and parameter setting for the process. The GUI can be implemented at a device in which the storage medium is a component or can be implemented in a device driver GUI on a personal computer in communication with the device.

    摘要： A system for querying disparate, heterogeneous data sources over a network, where at least some of the data sources are World Wide Web pages or other semi-structured data sources, includes a query converter, a command transmitter, and a data retriever. The query converter produces, from at least a portion of a query, a set of commands which can be used to interact with a semi-structured data source. The query converter may accept a request in the same form as normally used to access a relational data base, therefore increasing the number of data bases available to a user in a transparent manner. The command transmitter issues the produced commands to the semi-structured data source. The data retriever then retrieves the desired data from the data source. In this manner, structured queries may be used to access both traditional, relational data bases as well as non-traditional, semi-structured data bases such as web sites and flat files. The system may also include a request translator and a data translator for providing data context interchange. The request translator translates a request for data having a first data context into a query having a second data context which the query converter described above. The data translator translates data retrieved from the data context of the data source into the data context associated with the request. A related method for querying disparate data sources over a network is also described.

    摘要： An electrophotographic copy machine includes a system manager which controls the operation of the copy machine based on a plurality of performance levels corresponding to fuser copy quality characteristics, i.e., TPE, gloss and fuse fix. Each performance level corresponds to job parameters of a job to be performed, such as black and white paper copies, black and white copies on 11".times.17" or A3 size paper, black and white transparency copies, and color copies. When a particular job is requested, if the temperature of the fuser roll or pressure roll is below a minimum temperature required by the corresponding performance level, the system manager either prevents operation or reduces the copy rate until the minimum temperature requirements are met. The result is consistent fuser performance of high quality copy output.
