Abstract:
A heating device includes an elongated heater, a first holding member configured to hold the heater, a power shut-off member configured to shut off power supply to the heater, a second holding member configured to hold the power shut-off member, a first urging member configured to press the power shut-off member against the heater, and a regulation member configured to regulate a position of the second holding member, wherein, in a longitudinal direction of the heater, one end side of the second holding member is urged by the first urging member, and another end side of the second holding member is regulated in position by the regulation member.
Abstract:
A fixing apparatus includes a fixing belt, a heating roller, a nip portion forming member, a pressing rotary member, a suspending roller, and an urging unit. The heating roller is in contact with an inner surface of the fixing belt and heats the fixing belt. The suspending roller has a center and both ends in an area where the fixing belt and the suspending roller are in contact with each other in a width direction of the suspending roller. Outside diameters at both ends are greater than an outside diameter at the suspending roller center by a value between 50 micrometer and 300 micrometer, inclusive. The urging unit urges the suspending roller from the inner surface of the fixing belt toward an outer circumference surface of the fixing belt. A force that the urging unit applies to the suspending roller ranges between 50 newtons and 100 newtons, inclusive.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a fixing member, a pressing member, a heating unit and a controller. The fixing member heats a toner image formed on a sheet. The pressing member presses the sheet onto the fixing member. The heating unit heats the fixing member. The controller controls the heating unit. The sheet is located at the fixing member in a first period and the sheet is not located at the fixing member and the fixing member is located between sheets in a second period. The controller controls the heating unit such that the heating unit heats the fixing member in a first heating pattern in which a heating period does not include the second period or in a second heating pattern in which a heating period includes the second period.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus determines, in a first mode, an image forming condition according to characteristic data, which is input by a user and represents characteristics of a sheet contained in a sheet container, causes a sensor to detect characteristics of a sheet, and stores characteristic data according to a result of the detection into a memory. The image forming apparatus determines, in a second mode with the characteristic data being stored in the memory, an image forming condition, based on the characteristic data stored in the memory before a result of detecting a characteristic of a sheet by the sensor is obtained. The image forming apparatus causes, in the second mode with the characteristic data being not stored in the memory, the sensor to detect characteristics of a sheet, and determines an image forming condition based on a result of the detection.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming station configured to form a toner image and a recording material; a fixing portion configured to fix the toner image formed by the image forming station on the recording material; a selector configured to select a correction level for correcting crease of an envelope, by an operator; and a controller configured to control a fixing condition in response to the correction level selected on the selector.
Abstract:
According to one embodiment, a fixing device includes a heat roller, a first heat generating body, a second heat generating body, and a power adjuster. The heat roller heats a conveyed sheet. The first heat generating body is provided in the heat roller and generates heat in the vicinity of the center in the length direction of the heat roller. The second heat generating body is provided in the heat roller and generates heat in the vicinities of both the ends in the length direction of the heat roller. The power adjuster applies thinning control to electric energy supplied to one or both of the first heat generating body and the second heat generating body.
Abstract:
An image forming device includes: an image forming unit configured to form an image on paper fed from a paper housing unit; a heater lighting control unit configured to determine, based on a temperature detected by a temperature detecting unit in a fixing unit at least including a fixing roller that holds and carries the paper on which the image is formed, a pressure roller arranged in pressure-contact with the fixing roller, a heater that heats the fixing roller, and the temperature detecting unit arranged in a vicinity of the heater, a lighting rate of the heater; and a paper determination unit configured to determine information related to the paper based on lighting rates of the heater in standby and in printing which rates are determined by the heater lighting control unit.
Abstract:
A fixing device includes a fixing belt, a nip pad, a press roller, a driving portion, and a heat generation source. The fixing belt has an endless shape. The nip pad is located on an inner circumferential side of the fixing belt. The nip pad presses the fixing belt. The press roller presses the fixing belt along with the nip pad. The driving portion moves the press roller toward the nip pad. The heat generation source causes the fixing belt to generate heat. A control section controls an image forming section and the fixing device. The nip pad includes a protrusion. The protrusion protrudes toward an outer circumference of the fixing belt and a downstream side of the nip. The control section changes a movement amount of a protrusion to the press roller.
Abstract:
A printing apparatus sets, as time for performing pre-processing before performing print processing, first time if the printing rate calculated by the calculation unit is smaller than a predetermined value, and second time that is longer than the first time if the printing rate calculated by the calculation unit is larger than the predetermined value.
