Abstract: A method for identifying the contour of a vehicle based on measurement data from an environment sensor system is disclosed. The measurement data includes a set of spatial points of an object detected by the environment sensor system. The method includes: producing an envelope in the form of a polygonal chain around the object based on the set of spatial points; reducing the set of spatial points; removing spatial points from the polygonal chain that are irrelevant to identifying the contour of the vehicle and determining spatial points of the polygonal chain that are relevant to identifying the contour of the vehicle; classifying one or more edges as belonging to a front and a side of the vehicle on the basis of the reduced set of spatial points.

Abstract: A localization device for visually determining the location of a vehicle includes a camera unit for capturing image data and a control unit. The control unit is configured to recognize at least one landmark in the captured image data and to determine a quality value for each landmark. The determination of the quality value involves multiple recognitions of the particular landmark. In addition, multiple quality values for one landmark can be determined for different observation positions or observation directions. The control unit is further configured to adjust the quality value of a landmark already contained in a map, based on a new recognition by the localization device. The control unit is configured to determine the position of the localization device based on the recognized landmarks in conjunction with the map. The control unit is further configured to determine the position of landmarks in relation to a global coordinate system.

Abstract: A method for controlling, by a remote monitoring and/or control device, an activation of a command in a wheel unit that has previously stored a group of authorized UHF communication devices and checked whether a device that has sent a response message belongs to the group. If it does, the wheel unit sends a series of command-related signaling messages with each message associated with a single command. When the authorized device receives a message relating to a specific command that the authorized device requests to have activated by the wheel unit, the authorized device sends back to the wheel unit a standard response message interpreted as an activation order for the wheel unit to activate the specific command.

Abstract: Disclosed is a control unit circuit for a motor vehicle. The control unit circuit comprises a control unit and, outside a housing of the control unit, an electrical energy store for an emergency supply. To form an electrical circuit for the emergency supply, two electrical poles of the energy store are connected to the control unit via a cable and one of the two electrical poles is connected via a switching element to a ground potential of the on-board electrical system and at least one measurement circuit couples each one of the poles to the ground potential and is set up to generate a measurement signal, which is correlated with a voltage.
